  • how much for postage? and warranty?

    • Its shipped… warranty wise iono if it has global warranty =/ sorry for not being able to assist with that. I suppose if worst comes to worst, you will have to send it to amazon…

I will say this though, warranty is the only thing getting in the way of me buying… that and my new dell u2713hm that i have to pay for… lol

    Awful, awful price… wait…

Solid state!!! WOAH! $100 cheaper than Australian stores on Staticice :)

I thought this was plain platter for a second :P

That huge sale during thanks giving was way better.

Like I said, current sweet spot for 250 is 170 and 500 is 330 and 1 tb is under 520.

Projected in to 2014, with low end 64 be phrased out in the new line up. The 120 gb would be at under 80 aud level without sale.

    • If thats the plan… i suppose i could wait for local retailers to go down in price… not like i need a ssd anyway lol…

      • this xmas is projected to be the worst since 2008, for USA and if not AUS

so sit on funds if you got them :p

I am still waiting for my Amazon thanks giving 180GB 530 for 136 AUD approx shipped since that model is 189 in MSY, so 50 off is bargain worth the risk.

I managed to get the 250 GB 530 at the start of the thanks giving sale too.

        • Tbh i'm looking for the day ssd would be 50c per gig… Doubt that is coming soon…

Would of also pull the trigger if mwave sold the 250 for 175… But the did it for 182 =\

        • For mlc type ssd, it would be a while before they reach such 50 cent level

Samsung tlc has room to cut and would cut deeper once rivals gear up on their controllers.

Tlc are yet to be tested in real life performance by time.

          Theory can be all roses.

Back in 2010, SSDs are 150 for 6X GB on sale, 12X are at 250 level, so in 3 years time, the price fall to 128 at 80-90 level and 250 under 190, hence by the same rate, for such growth sector, we can expect 240-25X GB to be at 150 level in 2014.

But as for 120 AUD for 240 GB, that will be 2015!

        • Dang waitjng til 2015 might be abit hard seeing as ssd do give quite a bit of performance… then again… the price of them would be more reasonable iif it was 50c per gb… guess ill have to wait lol

Woah - SSD prices are dropping pretty quickly. IMO the best mod you can do to a PC.

Still.. for ~$600.. it's a bit rich. Looking forward to the next few months :)

Totally agree, the warranty thing is another factor imo

  • yea. looking forward to price drops.
i do remember paying 400$ for 1.2 gigabyte, so its just a matter of time he he

  • these drives are the future, they just need to hit the $100 mark

  • Would you not rather get 4x240GB SSD in RAID0 with a proper backup solution in place?

Crazy Read/Write and IO transactions FTW!

    • Honestly, i don't even have a place to put a SSD if i bought one… my 900D case is full to the brim with water cooling lol… i have a free 5.25 slot i suppose…
