  • Even though it's not the newest model, it's still a nice camera and a good deal.

  • I remember when they closed their superstore… so many good deals!

Where in the centre did they re-open?

    • On the ground floor next door to the reject shop. They reduced the size of the pharmacy and DS has gone in there

      • About time… never seen a pharmacy the size of a supermarket before i went to Knox….

Haven't you seen the new Chemist Warehouse in Knoxfield?

        • Haha no….. Should I go?

        • They are open 8am till 11pm 7 days a week should you decide to go. One of their cleanest and well spaced out stores with plenty of parking.

  • That's even cheaper than when DJs had it on sale couple of months ago!
Though with DJs they threw in a bonus speedlight. I still have yet to find a use for the flash though tbh.

    198 is a great price.

    • I find the flash very useful in comparison shots, definitely worth it and I believe DJ price was good as that flash is expensive!

  • I can't figure it out from the specs as to whether it has in-built flash, or it is "optional"

    • +2

      Does not have a flash.

  • when it is open? i called knox city, and it wont open until next monday.

They opened yesterday. They were supposed to open 16th Dec but Dick couldn't hold back any longer.

so you are saying Dick was a bit premature … ?

Great deal, where do they keep finding all this new/old stock !

Bought it in the past DJ deal and its been a great combo with the 18.5mm lens

And I love the fact that it has an in built viewfinder. Makes sunny outdoors photos that much easier.

  • !!
Lowest price I've ever seen on the V1.
How many of these do they have in the back room?!

Interesting that in that pic (from which catalogue?) they have the optional cold shoe attached.

I'm amazed at the deals people find. I'd get one if I didn't already have one. Oh wait, it's gift-giving time, right? I can see my wallet getting thinner…

The had at least 6 of each colour in the cabinets. Not sure whether they had more out the back. It is the second day of their store opening. I would imagine they have sold a few.

      • I wouldn't imagine they would have any stock out back at this price, it's pretty damn cheap.

  • I like the price, but wonder if it is reasonable if I have to buy the $150 flash to to able to use it at night …

  • Too bad we cant get this deal in Perth

  • how does this camera compare to the sony nex-3n from earlier post?

    • I would say, PROS for V1 - much faster AF and EVF, PROS for 3N - noticeably better IQ due to bigger sensor, built in flash, more lens selection. But $198 is a damn cheap price for the V1.

      • AF performance for V1 will drop considerably in low light once it switches to contrast detection.

Also if you like to fiddle around with the settings a lot, V1 can be very annoying. Particularly ISO settings are buried under 3 levels of menus.

        • There's a lot of fiddling around with the NEX cameras as well, I think the menu system on the NEX is worse.

        • Not sure if V1 does come with flash, otherwise it would be additional extra $$$. 3N has built-in flash, but very weak, only rated 4M at ISO 100!

  • Nice price

  • Thank you, just in time for the trip tomorrow.

Bought one, still got around 6 of each inside the cabinets!

i have the camera. got it for $350 with the flash. this is a good price.

  • Just asked in store, all gone. Can't get one, sad.

  • I have this camera since harvey norman deal in Sep. Very good performance in auto. I have flash but you dont need it indoors if used in auto mode. Pictures come out brighter than real life indoors as it slows the shutter speed down.

  • can anyone confirm if stock is still available?

  • Ozbargain strikes again. Time to put this deal to rest.

  • And to those people trying to sell them for $320 on ebay today, your dreamin! Hope you send them with receipt for warranty.

    • I can only see one listed for $345.
