$5 off When You Spend $30 or More at Liquorland ($10 When Combined with AMEX Credit)

1310

$5 discount voucher for spending $30 or more in one transaction at Liquorland.

This will pair well with the $20 credit from AMEX for $50 spend, or handy for those without an American Express.

EDIT: Thanks to leeroys_dad, it is better to make two $30 transactions and claiming this twice, as the AMEX deal does not have to be all in one transaction. Therefore totalling $30 rebate on $60 spend.

This deal was listed on the Liquorland Facebook page here.

I posted them separately as this one is more relevant to the AMEX credit, than to the cider, and also due to the different expiry dates. I originally intended to post the cider one earlier as I have made use of it multiple times already; however, time unfortunately got the better of me. Noted for next time though :)

Think twice if you are posting more than one deal from a site. Are they all really good deals?

Are they all really good deals?

Do you have the ability to answer this bbyboy?

Because thanks to the OP I'm now going to be saving an extra $5 which I would have never of known about if they didn't post this.

      • -1

im not saying whether this is a good or bad deal
read the revisions of this post then
scroll to the top of the link i posted -"COMBINE deals from the same merchant"
the op had obviously changed this post and it now makes me look wrong
you obviously havent read the rules and guidelines of this site

Thanks for these two great deals. Hope I can get some cider tomorrow!

or use this twice for 2 purchases for $10 off and still qualify for the amex offer ($50 in 1 or more transactions)

    • That's correct. From the Amex offer "spend $50 or more in one or more transactions at Liquorland, in-store or online, before 31/1/14"

    • Good one!!!!!

  • +1

Did anyone use this for Coles giftcard purchase in Liquorland?

    • +1

      I bet that would work.

  • +2

Will this stack with a team member discount?

    • +1

I would assume so. With the voucher being applied first, and the team member discount second. i.e. $30 - $5 - $2.50 (10% until Christmas Eve) = $22.50.

  • There's probably a good chance you won't be able to split this offer across two transactions. It specifically states 1 per person per day.

Still an awesome deal nonetheless. Lay down a case of Boags Premium and you're only going to spend $25 - $30.

    • You may not be able to split one purchase across two transactions, but this is valid until the end of the year, so there are multiple opportunities to use it. The AMEX deal does not need to all be in more transaction, so the purchases will accumulate. Whether it is worth going back a second time though, is up to you. :P

You don't go to the bottle-o each day??

  • Thanks OP. so gift card not excluded?

    • Did anyone try and buy a coles gift card with this offer? $30 voucher for $25.

      • World square Liquorland is a no go.

        • I bought a $60 Coles Myer card at Willoughby LL and the $5 off barcode worked fine. Then I went to Vintage Cellars to buy the Absolut Elyx for $45 ($65 @ LL). So with the $20 Amex deal altogether I paid $20 for my Absolut Elyx, an absolutely unreal deal!

      • Just to follow up buying the gift card worked at 4 out of the 5 liquorlands I visited today.

  • Shame I guess this cant be used online.

    Thanks OP, great find!

I'm gonna get 2x 700 ml Bailey @ $ 21.70/bottle so total purchase is $ 43.40. Apply this offer and get $ 5 off so total purchase on day 1 is $ 38.40. Day 2, do it again so the total purchase is $ 76.80. I have an Amex card so I'll get a $ 20 credit so total purchase for 4 x 700 ml Bailey is $ 56.80 or $14.20 per bottle!

Can anyone suggest if there's any possible further discount/saving? Too bad I don't have access to staff discount.

    • +2

I would buy a $50 Coles Myer gift card using my amex card to net the $20 credit. Chew up $38.40 moments later, chew up the remaining $11.60 the next day and use my ING Direct card for the remaining $26.80. You save an additional $1.34 that way.

      • I'd settle for 2 bottles of Baileys and use the remaining $11.60 on groceries. That way you can take advantage of the full 40% off. Works out to be $11.52 for each bottle of Baileys.

  • Great thanks just at the right time

This deal doesn't work how can you get a $30 sale to $10? If you spend $50 you get $5 off with this and $20 credit with AMEX so you spent $25.

if you do 2x $30 transactions you spend $60 and get 2x $5 and $20 back so you spent $30.

    Summary

    $50 spend for $25 or;
    $60 spend for $30.

both way nets you 50% off so it's not better off to do 2x $30 transactions like the OP stated.

but yea i dont know how you got $10 when combind with AMEX from.

      Ungrateful troll is ungrateful

    • +3

You have to spend over $50 for the amex deal. So you have to spend $55 less $5 off ($55-$5=$50) less the amex $20 ($50-$20=$30) So $55 for $30 spend ($25/$55 = 45%) or $60 for $30 spend (over two $30 transactions) ($30/$60 = 50%)

  • Do you need to like it or print these out or just simply print to use

    • just print, no need to like.

    • +1

They were also able to scan the voucher straight off my phone.

  • Anyone know how much they sell in Liquorland for REKORDERLIG apple cider? Their website is down at the moment…

  • +1

I shopped at Coles before Liquorland and the receipt from Coles had 3X Flybuys points at Liquorland. Amex + FB + Triple points! What a productive day.

  • I was able to use this twice in two separate transactions for $30 Coles Myer gift cards. Paid with Amex, but no email yet saying I received a credit. Sadly I forgot my FB card so no points…

    • @ Jstar
Not sure you get FB points when buying gift cards at LL anyway (so my local tells me)
      (love to hear otherwise)

    • World square Liquorland refused to use it for buying gift cards. Very bad :(

      • Yeah a friend tried at a different store and got rejected too. On a more positive note, I received an email this evening confirming my statement credit :)

        • Managed to use the $5 off on purchase of $30 gift card at Liquorland Uni Hill Bundoora :)

  • I purchased 2 x 700ml JD two for $80 and used the $5 voucher at Liquorland at around 12pm.

I just got home from work (email time stamp was 12:15am) and have received an email notifying me of my $20 statement credit

Now to work buy something with the other Amex!

  • Great post, OP, thanks.

  • great for beer, ended up with a carton of Asahi for $30 with this and the amex deal.

not a massive saving compared to duty free spirits if you can get it.

  • +1

$25 for a $30 coles myer gift card + AMEX deal, nice. Thanks OP

one every day until the 31st ;) ~16% off

  • Thanks OP. Just got a $30 coles group gift card for $25, then went and used it at Coles straight away for my groceries.

  • I stopped at all the liquorlands which I passed as I drove around today.. 5 of them.

It worked at 4. The lady at the 5th one said tried it on her computer and it didn't work, I think she just didn't want to do it since it worked at the other 5. So $120 worth of gift cards for $100, thanks OP.

    • One guy said that the voucher wont work on gift cards, I asked him to try (third one for me) and he was surprise that worked.

      • so did you get Coles gift card successfully?

  • any one use it to get Coles gift cards in any Sydney area stores? I tried Caringbah store and its a no no.><

  • is the coupon unique? or can i use the one that op has posted? thanks :)

  • so giftcards using $5 voucher…

    Dapto - yes
    Figtree - yes
    Burwood - yes
    Marrickville Metro - yes
Marrickville - NO (guy was a total jerk about it and refused to honour with giftcards)
Hurstville - NO (guy was really really nice but had a printout of some T&C saying it cant be used with giftcards)

    • i got the impression that the Hurstville store had printed something sent to them today (had the date on it) from head office… fear this might be the start of the end of discounted giftcards :(

Interesting to note if you register for the voucher from their facebook now it does say it excludes giftcards in the T&C but obviously didn't originally.

  • Just got my second $5 off a gift card at my Liquorland. I used the same one as Friday but got a different staff member. The barcode didn't scan properly at first but the staff member keyed it in manually and got it to work. I have no idea whether it will work when I am there next week but I'll happily take whatever I can get and won't complain if it gets rejected next time.

  • T&C has changed as per Travis comment:

Offer valid until 31/12/2013 in Liquorland stores. Limit 1 discount, per customer, per day. $5 will be taken off the transaction total that is over the above specified spend, total after all savings and discounts, and excluding gift cards and smoking/tobacco product purchases.

    Gift cards are excluded now.

I'll try again today as I still have the old T&C printed voucher

    • Expired for gift cards :(

      • Well it was good while it lasted.

  • Tried it again today and it's a shame they finally clued on and changed the T&Cs.

I got to use it twice on $30 gift card purchases so $50 total spend. My amex refund of $20 has also been posted to my account so it definitely works with that deal too.

  • is the coupon unique? or can i use the one that op has posted? thanks :)

  • It says not valid with other deals, but after I used it the guy offered I spend another $10 for a six pack of Heineken or Somersby because I was spending over $30.
So that not only means it's worth trying to stack discounts/offers, but there's that Heineken/Somersby offer that you guys might want to know about.

  • The staffs at the Bulleen Liquourland are so unhelpful. I would never shop there if not for the $20 credit.

  • Still working today in WA for purchasing gift cards at several stores. Has worked everywhere I have tried.

  • Apparently head office issued an updated T&C to the stores (dated 19th Dec), the store manager showed me the printout, excluding gift cards.

Even though I had the old voucher with old T&C, they wouldn't honour it.

Tried it at a few stores and they wouldn't accept.

  • Tried it again in two stores in WA today, no problem. Don't think Ozbargain has that many members in Perth so Liquorland don't seem to be paying too much attention to it here.
