    Lowest Price Ever

we'll all be laughing at this deal in 2068 when these are $38

    • +5

2068 these will be custom made for water tycoons who have access to water.

  • Great. I saw one at the reject shop today for $40 was thinking about it. This is $1 better!

Why do people neg eachother for giving relevant information?
Nosdan just gave us something relevant, And yet people still neg him??

      Here's a +1

I bought this exact hose reel from repco for $59 I think.

I am onto my third one and its busted too. The first one went back because the housing was cracked when I unboxed it (maybe just unlucky?) the 2nd and 3rd (current) one have both had the same problem.. After a few weeks use the locking mechanism turned to shit and will auto rewind itself all the time. Very annoying.. I don't think these are well made.

    • +3

Looking at buying auto reel hose, seem like they are hit and miss, hozelock seems to be the brand of choice

      • +2

I really liked the one or two weeks of good auto reel hose I got out of these.. I think hose reels are one thing you can't really cheap out on. The manual for this strangely comes with a full diagram of every part and its a lot more complex than you would think.

Thanks Dave, you just saved me $39.

        And me

        • and me.

I have one too. The locking mechanism is really bad, can't lock at all after a few weeks use. I have to use a big clip to clip onto the hose so that it can't auto rewind.

  • Damn I was really keen on getting some. Been waiting for a retractable water hose for a couple of months now, guess I'll have to wait for hozelock.

  • What's the quality of the hose like? Is it going to be one of those ones that kink up all the time?

    • +1

Even if it's a cheap hose, it's less likely to kink if you rewind after each use. It's protected from the sun and the large diameter of the reel means a consistent gentle curve — not a crush.

I actually have two of these exact ones in my garden. Bought them last year at $59. having had them for over 12 months I am actually very happy with them. My only issue has been the hose connector on one of them cracked about a week ago. Anyhow, ill be going back and getting a few more of these puppies at this price and have one on every hose in the garden. Thanks for the post.

  • Will these work for the hoselink?

    • If you change the connectors, then yes.

  • which better quality compared to bunnings one https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/126426 ?

  • If you want something that is actually a quality product and doesn't break within a year or two:
    http://www.onlinehosereels.com.au/catalog/index.php?cPath=12…

Yes, it costs $189. It depends if you value your sanity I guess… This one really rewinds well, it doesn't fall to bits, the mechanism is strong. The hose is quality. It's made in Australia.

    • It's great but I can't afford it right now. I've ordered this:
      http://www.bunnings.com.au/aqua-systems-20m-hose-reel_p3130415

Yes, it costs $10 lol. I intend to get a cheap plastic crate (sacrificial) and cover it when not in use. The plastic on this reel looks very recycled and I'm betting it will crumble after a year of UV exposure.

In my shitty case, the backyard tap is on an east-facing wall so a $5 crate protecting a $50 hose is worth it.

  • If ur in brisbane I have a guillotine and folder, if ur keen on fabricating a cover for it :)

    • Thanks mate, but I'm in Tassie. And believe it or not, we get many extreme UV days here!

Offer started this morning. "aparantly sold out" in less than 20 minutes, though no cars outside shop. I wonder how many they had…

    • Appears to be a customer-hooking bait. I went to three different stores in NSW and they were all sold out before 12:00pm. The petrol burned on visiting the stores alone was worth more than the offered discount. Neg from me.

  • Mine had 5 when I went in at 8:30 but the shop was a really small one. I assume larger stores have more stock?

  • +1

    This WAS a great bargain.
I did not plus it until now because I knew the stores would be inundated with ozbargainers.

I bought 2 this morning at Repco Moorabbin, got there at 9:3OAM.
Of the 28 in stock, 4 were left.

Lesson: Early bird catches the worm

Mine twisted and got stuck after two minutes of use. I'll return it tomorrow. Total garbage.
