  • Been waiting for this. Thanks OP, hopefully they fixed all the bugs that caused FF Tactics to crash.

  • Great thanks, was waiting for Tactics… heard they've completely remade the game with the latest update with all graphics redone in HD and less crash

  • Chaos Rings are the cheapest they've ever been! Thought it was a typo for Chaos Rings 2 for iPad and snapped it up asap, never seen it below ~$12

The FF games could be a bit cheaper but that's just my opinion ;) I wish FF3 & Tactics was universal since I've already paid for both of them on iPhone at full price! sighs (I am aware I can still play them on iPad but I much prefer it being optimised)

    • FF @ 50% off is what it should be full price imho but Square Enix seems to be sticking their guns at that price so it might not change in a hurry. They have made small price adjustments in the past though but only by a couple of dollars.

I find the 2 versions very confusing. I have both an iPhone and an iPad and I don't know which version to get. I guess I'll end up playing on the iPad mostly but didn't want to rule out the iPhone. Didn't the iPhone version later get updated for iPhone Retina display? Does that mean it looks good on iPad anyway? Is the iPad version optimised for Retina display too? Doesn't look like it. Maybe there's little difference if one is for Retina iPhone and the other standard iPad.

      • +1

If you have an iPad Mini I'd recommend getting the FF games on that as its a good sweet spot. FF Tactics looks alright on the iPad (quite crisp with retina update) but I think its squished on the iPhone. FF3 looked rather average upscaled on the iPad, I got fed up with it rather quickly

I think you'd be better off getting the iPad versions, its a lot less fiddly and you can appreciate it more. I regret buying all those FF games on iPhone (but this was years before I bought an iPad so I had no choice!)

        • Thanks for the info. I'll go for the iPad versions. In any case I have FF I&II to play on the iPhone. Hopefully they'll get merged into a universal app one day.
