      You take it up with Amazon USA and ship it back to them, I imagine. Sony Australia will almost certainly not touch it.

      1. You don't want to use your PS4 as a bluray player because even cheap local one's do a better job (currently).

      2. Given the price, the warranty issue (having to mail back to Amazon) and the minor launch issues, I wouldn't want to give my system a bigger workload through non-gaming play.

        Not sure why he's being negged, ps4 has a terrible deinterlacer with no way to turn it off. PS3 just passed through the interlaced video and let your amp or TV deal with it which do an infinitely better job.

      it is a YMMV issue.
      Someone prefer region A as they can buy and use much cheaper US copies.
      Many bluray discs are actually region free or Region A&B, so only a fraction are Region B only.

      I still have a PS3 which is Region B, and two bluray players which are region switchable.

      I was worried for the opposite with this (Getting an Aus console/USA and Amazon blu rays not working)

      To my surprise though, the 6 blu ray's I've purchased from Amazon work! (I guess I got 'region free' blu rays; whatever the case though I'm super happy)

    PS4 is back in stock in Big W why to spend money on somewhere internationally when we can get in our own stores i dont know how long it will be i stock so any one who mis the chance to own best console go and grab it Merry Christmas

      Fans backlash for lacking CD audio support…really?

      I cant see many people will actually turn on the ps4 and tv just to play some music.

      Maybe a minority of 1% ps4 owners.

      Though I agree not having DLNA support is ridiculous…but i believe its fixable by a firmware update.

        I hope they do fix it! I use my ps3 for streaming 80% of the time, and 20% for gaming. There's no way I'm going to upgrade to a ps4 without DLNA support.

          It's not like I am actively wanting "media support" ala XBOX One, but geez, I use my PS3 to play back almost everything that isn't OGG or MKV. Saying that you "didn't consider people might want to play MP3" either shows you are a retard or very disingenuous.

          Of course, when Sony finally caved and let their MiniDisc players support MP3 (shittily) after being utterly raped in a market they literally created they did it because "we think we made our point about piracy". Certainly nothing to do with the complete failure of ATRAC and the ass-whupping they received from Apple. They seem a bit clueless or really think people love their proprietary stuff, despite continued evidence to the contrary.

          Hell, I am buying a PS4 and just bought a Vita (and am loving it), but this interview is one who bag of WTF? You can't be in charge of product development and be that ignorant.

      Interesting read, most of those limitations I didn't know about, assuming they are accurate. I guess I am one of those "for the gamers" people, I want a console to do games, that's all I ever used the PS3 for. TBH, if the PS4 simply removed a bunch of features I never used but updated the graphics, interface & chat/messaging system then that is reason enough for me to want it.
