Eneloop Charger +4x AA Nimh + Two 8x AA Rouge Battery Pack $50 Shipped @ DSE (via eBay)

150

This previous deal - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/125795 - was back on yesterday without free shipping, but has now expired. However, you can still get it WITH free shipping via Dick Smith's eBay store… not sure how long that option will be available.

Good for stocking up on batteries for all those Christmas presents… if you can get the kids to wait until the estimated delivery date of 31/12!

NOTE: Updated 9:03AM on 23/12 to reflect expiry of original Dick Smith deal.

  • Sanyo Eneloop branded smart charger… where are you?

    • Why do you need one when there are so many La Crosse charger deals available?

      • The charger is free. The usual DSE deal is $20 for 8 AAs, making them $2.50 each.

This deal is $50 for 20 AAs, which is also $2.50 each. The charger doesn't cost extra.

Obviously this deal is only for people who need 20 AAs or more. :)

  • tempted, I have the %10 off voucher from ebay

  • Is this a good charger? Charging time seems slow—I've seen other chargers with a charge time of 30 minutes. But is slow charging a better for batteries?

    • +2

Slow is better for your batteries, won't get many cycles if you're charging AA cells in 30min

  • I bought pack of 8 from DSE a couple of weeks ago, just found yesterday they were 1.2v whereas most of the devices need 1.5v, so they may give less power to the devices, that's the only concern I have.

    • +1

NiMH/NiCad rechargeables are all nominal 1.2V and work fine in the majority of devices that say they require 1.5V cells due to various factors including lower internal resistance and different voltage curve. Your 1.5V alkalines don't stay at 1.5V right until they're "flat" but steadily decrease.

  • surely 20 batteries is too many? what do people use them for?

    • Multiple camera flashes, flashlights, toys.. it all adds up!

  • Back up to $79.96 via eBay now.

  • Thanks OP. Got one.
