    Probably.. a.. forum post..

  • So, where's the bargain?

  • +1

LOL at HN pulling stock of the 4GB model…their $48 deal was the best!

  • Are there any cheap Kinect bundles or specials on the sensor?

if you are after Kinect then its not really a deal as the sensor is about $150 by itself. Dse had a 250gb kinect bundle for $199 but now sold out .

    • EB games $199

      • Sold out also

          Damn professionals!

Here is an Xbox 360 4gb for $150 + $16 delivery which should be $66 after cashback factoring in the delivery charge. The cash back offer just states it must be bought from an Australian ratiler. Is noworries.com.au a retailer?

There are more conditions than just that. The main one I am wary of is that the cashback is not applicable for purchasing awaiting delivery either to the store or to the customer. So if you order using any delivery methods you are betting on it arriving before the end of December, which is definitely not a given especially because of all the weekends and public holidays.

      • +1

I see i missed that part of the conditions where delivery orders don't qualify. Pity never mind.

    • +1

But that is the S model not the latest E model. Can anyone confirm if the cashback is paid out on both 4gb models including 4gb bundles?

  • Thanks for letting us know but it's not a bargain. Moved to forum.

The terms and conditions also state
"For the purposes of this promotion, pre-ordering an Xbox 360 4GB console through an Australian retailer will not be deemed an Eligible Purchase. Further, the Offer is not available for products that are still awaiting arrival into store or delivery to the customer."
Does this mean if you do click and collect or a even an online purchase, you are not eligible for the cash-back?

    • +1

Click and collect isn't home delivery it's pickup which means it's neither pre-order, backordered stock or home delivery. It's existing stock at the store. It should be fine.

      • I would not count on that as technically it's still 'awaiting arrival into store" as they are shipped from a warehouse to the store rather than being taking off the store shelf and put aside.

        • Not when it comes to Dick Smith or Harvey Norman through their web sites click and collect which i know for a fact. No stock is transferred any where the order is only passed along to your selected store which uses whatever available stock is located at that store and if stock isn't there you just can't make an order. There is no stock transfer. It's exactly as if you went into the store and bought it straight off the shelf just you're coming into the store and the stock has already been picked for you off the shelf and ready for customer pickup. I mean there's no awaiting stock arrival to the store because the stock is already at those Dick Smith or Harvey Norman stores. Not sure about other companies but that's the way it is at those two retailers.

In fact when you go to pickup your click and collect at Dick Smith the invoice is issued when you pay at the counter.

        • Hey Guys, I sent an email asking this question a few days ago and got this as a reply

          "Thank you for your email.

You may purchase from an online retailer as long as you purchase & receive your goods within the promotional dates of 25/12/13 – 31/12/13. Your order can not be on backorder or pre-purchased before the promotional dates.

The 4Gb E & S models are both eligible for Cashback as part of this promotion.

Please note that any model bundled with Kinect is not valid as Kinect is not part of this promotion.

          Kind regards,

Microsoft Xbox 360 Cashback Customer Service."

Looks like the people need to purchase and receive the xbox otherwise they are not eligible for the cashback. Luckily I was able to grab one from the store however others may have some trouble.

What's wrong with ordering from JB Hi-Fi? This link definitely says buying online from JB you are eligible for the cashback.

That link also definitely asks you to read the terms and conditions.

EVERYONE READ THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS.

Everyone just upped the price of the 4GB console and removed any bundled games, sigh..

    • Would've come down from Microsoft. If they're giving customers $100 cashback I doubt that they'd keep giving retailers their scanback deals too.

    • big w still do but $9 more expensive.

      • can confirm, just went to big w 30mins ago at eastland and they still have the bundle with arkham origins

    • went to target saw a sign that said 159. They girl told me i can get it for 159, i just wont get the cashback.. i was just wth face~

  • Bought one E version from HN Chadstone for $179 after pricematch with Target. Less $30 after Amex cashback :)

Microsoft store is back in stock. [Sorry if someone else has mentioned]

    • It's worth noting that the final price at the checkout is actually still ending up as $169; the M$ site specifically states online purchases are eligible for the $100 cashback (I took a screen cap in case they try to weasel out); so that's a net price of $69 with the two free games!

      Copy/paste from M$ site:

      Get $100 cashback!
      Xbox 360 4 GB Console

Limited Time Offer: Buy Xbox 360 4GB today and get $100 cashback!* See all deals >

      Sweet! :)

  • Will this work if I buy 4GB console with kinnect bundle?

    • no, xbox 360 4gb console with kinect bundle is not eligible. I got response on this from 360cashback team (via email) on a seperate query and also it(above) was mentioned.

  • what's the point of the xbox 360?

they are just doing this to clear out old stock to make way for xbox one?

If they didn't do this, the xbox 360 would be redundant soon anyway

    • +2

      Whats the point?

1)Cheap gaming console for those who don't consider jumping on the Xbox One or PS4 bandwagon worthwhile yet (PS Its not)

2)Massive back catalogue of great titles whose prices will continue to come down.

      3)Grand Theft Auto 5

4)They are still releasing future titles on xbox 360.

They were worth the money before this cashback crazyiness imo.

  • What's the best option at the moment.. HN to pricematch Target?

  • Anyone know if they will accept a photo of a receipt instead of a scan? I don't have a scanner here and would rather not have to post out the original.

has anyone received the cashback yet?
