  • The price is going crazy…..
Why no similar PS3 deals around?

    • +3

Sony milk consoles till their last breath. MS ditch very quickly.

      • MS is not planning on doing that this time around. The E was released to make it look like the One around the same time as the One launches.

  • Based on the image, it could be the wrong model to be eligible for the cash back. Might be risky.

    • Images do not constitute T&Cs.

      • Read comment below*.

  • can we buy a kinect bundle and claim $100 back? no point spending $60 for the console and another $149 for the sensor even with cash back. the current bundle is just $199. Any thought?

the T&C on the cash back website doesn't say it has to be console by itself.

    • is there any 4GB SKU with kinect included?

    • I really want to know about this. Can anyone inquire by email?

      • just did. wouldn't expect them to response anytime soon tho.

      • just found this. but it doesn't say whether it's eligible for another $100 cb or not (I doubt).
        http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msusa/en_US/pdp/Xbox-360…

        • but just the 4GB model without kinect doesnt mention about $100 cashback either

          http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msusa/en_US/pdp/Xbox-360…

Edit: I just noticed that both of us are looking at US site, not the local AUS one

        • That deal doesn't apply to us as its the MS US store.

        • "The Offer is available to Australian residents who have purchased a new Xbox 360 4GB console from any Australian retailer, other than auction website retailers, between 25 December 2013 and 31 December 2013"

Microsoft Online Store would not be included :(

        • It's a global site but you are right. the link I posted may target US resident. this is is for AU but I don't think it's eligible for $100 cb. http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msaus/en_AU/pdp/Xbox-360…

        • That msaus link supposedly is eligible. Someone said they called Microsoft to confirm. However, the T&Cs say the console has to be in your hands before the 31st of December. Which is unlikely when ordering online for delivery.

  • For that price,, its awesome!!

  • +2

i contacted microsoft and they said only E
they said they will update asap

    • +13

      Rong is wrong then

    • If it hasn't been updated by the time I buy (in 47 minutes) then I expect them to honour as is.

      • up to you to take that chance but they prob make u run around for months to get it if you ever do it it

        • +1

I like a fight. Clause 15 may help them, but that's a risk I'm willing to take.

        • isnt the microsoft deal better anyway with the 2 free games and only $20 more

        • T&Cs say it must be received within the promotional period. So in-store or instant click and collect (DSE and HN style where you order from a store that already has stock, not Big W and Target where they post the item from a warehouse to the store) are the only options.

        • yeh being run by Singapore office probably means they don't have to care about our laws anyway…..its only if you bought from one of the stores advertising the cashback then you could go after that store.

    • @4luk, which microsoft number did you call to confirm? I've tried a few but they don't seem to have a clue about this promotion.

      • i emailed them on the 23rd when the site went live and they replied today

        • And yet on the 23rd, before you received a reply from them, you posted saying "I can confirm that the Harvey Norman slim will not have the refund".

          https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/127995

          I call BS.

        • Thanks. I did the same on the 23rd as well but they didn't reply.

Any idea if ordering from microsoftstore.com australia site eligible for this promo? thanks.

        • Apparently it is. Someone said they called Microsoft to confirm. However, the T&Cs say the console has to be in your hands before the 31st of December. Which is unlikely when ordering online for delivery.

  • +1

No stock around Gold Coast, I wonder how many they have? And if it will stay the same price for boxing day? As the Microsoft Store has upped it's price in preparation :(

  • waow

  • Any thoughts around the following from the t&c does it mean ordering now makes it in eligible ?

    1. For the purposes of this promotion, pre-ordering an Xbox 360 4GB console through an Australian retailer will not be deemed an Eligible Purchase. Further, the Offer is not available for products that are still awaiting arrival into store or delivery to the customer.
  • +3

Wow Microsoft one just went up to $199

    • And can't add HN one to cart, even though it's in stock at my local :-(

    • It did, but that's RRP, and underneath it still states save $30…WTF

  • I would be concerned about this exempting the Harvey model…"new Xbox 360 4GB console "…. which could refer to the new model.

  • Big W went up to $304

  • +1

Harvey Norman one won't add to my cart. It would before midnight, but not now in Safari or FF.

Mobile website says "1 products found for 'Xbox 4gb'. There are no products matching the selection." when searching

    • Oh well, I ordered from Big W with the $10 off code and $6.75 back from StartHere. $71.25 after cash back. I get an invoice straight away and can submit a claim now as it doesn't ask for a serial number or anything.

If I really wanted to, I could bring it overseas next month for the GST back, and even claim it on my tax (believe it or not, I am actually buying it for work purposes).

      • hey which one did you get the E or slim?

        • E. The slim wasn't available online.

And correction, I don't get the invoice instantly. Looks like it gets emailed once someone processes the order, so I'll get it when they are back in the office.

Correction 2: Can't claim GST because it's not over $300, plus CBF bringing it overseas for $16.

  • +1

omg its not letting you add it to the cart……

  • +1

    Cant add to cart aHhhhhhhhhh

  • lol and the retail jips the consumer…

  • +2

Must be an early April fools joke…MF's

  • I reckon they have pulled their listings…..probably some m$ rule to co-inside with the cash-back.

Crosses fingers that 26th all links will be live!

  • +1

lol, cant add to cart as well.

  • I just have a question.
Even though I buy it at this moment, if I cannot pick it up before 31th, I still cannot get that 100$ cashback.
Because the T&C's says we need to receive it during the promotion period and there will be lots of people going to the store on 26th morning. I asked the staff in HN yesterday, that man said that we have to wait 1-2 weeks for the replenishment.

so…..I don't think we buy a xbox 360 4GB online at this moment is a good idea.

    • I don't think they would know when you actually receive the xbox, have a look at the claim form
      https://www.xbox360cashback.com.au/form/
there's no need to enter the serial number of the xbox, so I think even if it arrives after the 31st, it's still OK to claim.

      • maybe you're right because I haven't bought any items in HN.
But we need to upload the receipt to prove that we buy the xbox during that period. If we cannot pick it up in store before 31th, how can we get a receipt during this period? I'm not sure about this, but I think if we pick it up on Jan 1st for example, the receipt's date will be 1/1/2014 (?)

        • If you do in store pickup, that's gonna be the case.. You'd get the pickup date on your receipt, that's HN in-store pickup. (But you also get an email invoice with the transaction date on it)
I don't think the model is eligible anyway, it's not the E version, so go buy it somewhere else.

        • yeah you are right.
There are so many blocks prevent us getting the cash back.

I went to the HN yesterday and the staff there didn't tell me that only the Xbox 360 E could be the eligible model. I suppose he doesn't know MC's policy as well.

    • The online form doesn't ask for a serial number, so as long as you have a tax invoice, they have no way of knowing whether or not you have your hands on the console.

      • pls see my comment above.

        • just use the option to send the invoice by mail when you do the claim form

        • sorry I can't get your point.
I suppose that the receipt will be printed when we pick the xbox up in store. (?)
and the date on the receipt will show the date we pick it up instead of the date we buy it online. (?)

hope you can understand my consideration.
          forgive my poor english.

        • The invoice should show the date of transaction, not the date of pick up. Although that isn't always the case.

Christmas miracle: invisible xbox in chart

  • Don't forget the big w one says " buy at a register to get the $100 " , are you sure buying online would cut it. There is a good chance you wont get the TAX invoice until product is sent and as the blu ray debacle showed that may take a while.

    • You get the tax invoice once the order is processed. On the 5 orders I've placed in the last few days, that took about an hour.

It was the same with the blu-ray deal. I ordered 7/12 11am, got the tax invoice 7/12 1pm. Shipped 15/12. Dispatch notification 16/12. Email 17/12 to advise of Man of Steel not including Ultra-violet copy.

Also, even if you don't have the tax invoice, you can complete the claim form and select the option to post it in later.

      • I can confirm that the tax invoice date will be the same as the order date, even if processed later. I placed an order on the 22nd and it wasn't processed until the following day. The tax invoice still shows the 22nd.

Damn son, the controllers alone cost nearly this much.

  • Out of stock.

  • +1

    Page not found.

  • Looks like it has been removed it was almost a year ago since harvey norman screwed us with the tablets.

  • Is back to $198. Harvey again

    • If you still have the Amex offer it will be $168

  • My local does have the $148S model but they 100% insist there is no cash back with that one. (different code they said) So, the inner tight arse wants to try and claim "I didnt know and the terms only specify 4GB etc" but I obviously dont want to get no cash back.
    Decisions, decisions.

    • The serial won't work, you won't get cash back. Simple.

      • +1

Serial? The claim form doesn't ask for a serial, and the T&Cs do not exclude the slim.

      • Perhaps they mean the invoice needs to show "Xbox 360 E 4GB" to get the cashback.

        • +1

          Read the terms and conditions.

        • I am speculating the kind of crap they might try to pull.
I have carefully read the terms and conditions and my take on it is that they do not state any limitations as to which specific model of 4GB Xbox 360 they refer to. This seems more due to poor research and writing as it seems they intended to limit it to the 4GB Xbox 360 E model specifically. Where the rubber hits the road, this could translate a potential PITA argument for the cashback claim.

        • I can comform that the S and S Kinect bundles are included in the cashback offer.COntacted Xbox and they said it is and also ebgames comformed it as well.Got ebgames to price match Harvey normans $148 offer.

        • Thats good to know. Did you keep a copy of the communication?
If so that would be all we would need.

        • +1

I wonder how did you confirm that the Kinect bundles are included.

This is what I received from xboxcashback team. They explicitly stated that Kinect bundle is NOT eligible:

          From: xBox360CashBack <[email protected]>
          Subject: RE: Eligible retailers
          To: "xxxxxx" <[email protected]>

          Hi xxxxxx,
          Thank you for your email.
Please see the below details from point 2 of the terms &
          conditions.
Please note that Xbox 360 units which contain Kinect are
          INVALID in this promotion.

          1. The Offer is available to Australian residents who have
purchased a new Xbox 360 4GB console from any Australian
retailer, other than auction website retailers, between 25
December 2013 and 31 December 2013 (Eligible Purchase)
            (Promotion Period).

Purchases from the Microsoft store are valid for this
          promotion.

          Kind regards,
Microsoft Xbox 360 Cashback Customer Service

This is also consistent with what others received from the xboxcashback team: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/127696?page=2#comment-1770…

I'll be getting the Harvey Norman one tomorrow (only one left!) as I got an e-mail today from the Xbox 360 Cashback team saying both the E and S models are eligible (even with a bundle game or two) but if it comes with a Kinect it's rendered ineligible for the cashback.

  • Got an email confirming that Kinect bundle is NOT Eligible for Cashback

    "Thank you for your email.

The 4Gb E & S models are both eligible for Cashback as part of this promotion.

Please note that any model bundled with Kinect is not valid as Kinect is not part of this promotion.

    Kind regards,

Microsoft Xbox 360 Cashback Customer Service.

    www.xbox360cashback.com.au/tc/ "

  • How long do they normally take to confirm that your receipt is valid for the cash back offer?

  • Wow even the time period to initiate your claim is unclear!!

There terms here https://www.xbox360cashback.com.au/tc/ points 2 and 6 state that you must register your claim (even if you intend to physically send in the receipt thus extending the time allowed) during the "promotional period" which they state to be between 25 December 2013 and 31 December 2013 (Eligible Purchase) (Promotion Period)

    However!

If you read it here on the Home page https://www.xbox360cashback.com.au/
they say "The redemption period is 25 December 2013 to the 31 January 2014"

    Different!

    • Purchase period: 25/12/2013 - 31/12/2013
      Redemption period: 25/12/2013 - 31/1/2014

      Steps:
      1. Purchase
      2. Redeem online

      Which part is unclear?

      • Read again, read more carefully.
The two linked pages state different redemption periods.

        • I also don't see the discontinuity. You buy it first then redeem either online (deadline of 31/12) or via mail (deadline of 31/1) Those steps are different hence different dates.

        • OK, just taking the standard case of an online redemption; Link 1 you would have to complete the process by 31 December 2013.
Link 2 reads 31 January 2014 for the same.

        • Nah if you're sending it by mail, you just register it online first but you don't have to show the receipt until later. It gives you the option to choose online or mail.

        • Quoting self above.
"just taking the standard case of an online redemption" IE uploading the receipt.
One clear states you must finish by 31 Dec 2013
          Two states 31st Jan 2014.
          Thats the last time lol.
          Happy new year!

        • Oh right. Pretty sure they were just including the period for mailing in as well. Happy new year to you too.
