  • Loved the offer timing but did'nt liked ur approach.. sorry personal opinion

    • sorry about that but this the only option I can go with as I cant shop in 25-27 of Dec.

  • It said in my target that it ends tomorrow (not the cashback but the deal itself)

    • umm, I have been told this offer until the new year!

      • Oh maybe your right and come to think of it it was 2 days the thing just said offer ends 24/12/13 but I dunno if that's right of not

        • as unity1 post its says will end on the 25th, I think the guy who told me will end with the new year meant the cash back offer, not the xbox offer. there was misunderstanding

  • +2

This is not really a deal. Buy now and returning later (to be eligible for cash back) doesn't constitute a bargain.

    • I am not saying to buy it now and return it is the deal, I am pointing just for the deal itself if you can get it in the 25th
      edit: deleted the return part

is there a way to verify if this deal is legit? The website seems dodgy. And it does not link to or from any Microsoft domain.

    • If you're asking if the cash back is legit, yes it is. It's in the Target and Big W catalogue; that's enough verification. The website is still under construction.

The $100 Cash back offer starts on the 25th and ends on the 31st

  • What about this deal.. $88 (after cash back) with Battlefield 4 from BigW: http://www.bigw.com.au/entertainment/video-games-consoles/xb…

    Would this count?

    • as the T&C yes, but nobody sure about it

So it looks like you can place an order online on the 25th. But when will the console arrive? What information is required on the claim form? If a serial number is required you may not be able to lodge your claim by the 31st. Sounds a bit risky.

    • if you didnt receive it before the 31st just return it to your local store.

    • Yep it's always a serial with receipt

    • You must purchase between the 25th of dec to the 31st of dec from an Australian retailer

you have till the 31st of January to claim

I think you have plenty of time

      • umm no.
not plenty of time at all for mail orders.
holiday period with xmas post still flowing.
u may receive it thur 26 (boxcing day) , fri 27, mon 30 or tu 31 dec (nye) but i certainly wouldnt bet on it.
4 pretty busy days, probably limited stock.

        • While the T&Cs say you need to receive it by the 31st of December, claims can be submitted up until the 31st of Jan. How are they to know when you receive the xbox? You could receive it on Jan 30th, submit the claim, and they would be none the wiser.

        • I would assume the tax invoice would have the date it was shipped as the date of purchase? If they don't charge your card until it ships then it will be hard to argue.

        • True. Depends where you order. Big W invoices are sent about an hour after you order, so they would be fine. I can't speak for elsewhere.

        • I'm a bit confused now, I can't see where it says you need to receive the item by the 31st of December?
"The Offer is available to Australian residents who have purchased a new Xbox 360 4GB console from any Australian retailer, other than auction website retailers, between 25 December 2013 and 31 December 2013"
I was planning to order on the MS online store, but not so sure now as many of you are talking about this issue…

          1. "… the Offer is not available for products that are still awaiting arrival into store or delivery to the customer."
        • The online claim for needs to be filled in and submitted by 31st December. You will need your serial number in order to submit the claim form. You have until 31st January for those that's can't upload a receipt online and need to send it via post, but their online form will still need to be filled and submitted by 31st Dec. That's my understanding anyway.

        • Has another read, and yes, it looks that way. Online claim form must be submitted during the promotional period.

So can we buy online or do we need to have the box serial number in order to claim the cash back?

Is Target considered "any Australian retailer"?

    Thanks.

    • It's owned by WestFarmers so yes I would think so…

148$ (so $48 for the console) from HN http://www.harveynorman.com.au/gaming/game-consoles/gaming-c…
cant justify extra 29$ for the lame game

    • limited stock in a few stores and any web order wont arrive in time to claim

      • huh? see heaps in stock and free pick up from stores

        • +1

My only concern is the fact that HN is selling the Xbox 360 4Gb "slim" version, not the newest "E" version… is the slim still valid for the promotion? It's still a 4Gb 360…

        • Apart from the image it doesn't state in the Terms of Service that it has to be an E model, I wouldn't risk it though, plus the E model looks so much nicer.

        • site doesnt specify the e model.
          just says 4gb.

        • In the ToC is states an 'Xbox 360 4GB console' Not specifically an 'E'. The E seems to be more cheaply made than the slim.

        • Apart from the image it doesn't state in the Terms of Service that it has to be an E model, I wouldn't risk it though, plus the E model looks so much nicer.

The E model was a cost cutting exercise for Microsoft. It's a cheapened version, just like the PS3 super slim.

The only thing I'd want the E for over the S is that it's flat and I can put my Wii on top of it, saving shelf space. I could also put it on top of my PS4 though.

      • Stock in Armidale NSW

    • Apparently today is the last day at that price, they go up for boxing day with the $100 cashback.

I can confirm that the Harvey Norman slim will not have the refund :(

    • +1

As far as I can see the terms and conditions say nothing about 'e'. Only 4gb.

    • +2

      How can you confirm?

      • +3

maybe he considers HN an auction site.
can b a gamble receiving your orders.
waited months on that big game sale.

        • =]]

    • +2

Yeah where does your information come from?

      • He claims he contacted Microsoft and they said E only and will update the site ASAP. That would have been before his comment 24 hours ago, and there has been no update since. So if it's true, I'd expect them to honour it. Although there's always the chance the 4luk is just trying to make sure he gets the last remaining stock at a Harvey Norman near him.

Buying in store is probably the best option for me. It's the only way to guarantee I have it in my hands when I pay for it, and it won't get delayed.

    • Yeah, I think so to.

So does the promo apply to only the E version?

      • Does not say one way or another. I emailed them a few days ago, no response. I would think it does, but to be safe, probably should get an E version.

    • Yep 2nd

  • pulled the trigger. can confirm no serial number need to register for the online form.

  • Need for speed bundle has sold out

  • All this time we were worried about whether the cashback would be honored, whether it was real or not, whether it will arrive in time for a claim, and which retailers qualified.. seems the more important issue is simply down to whether or not anyone will be able to get a hold of some stock in the first place.

Looks like they are selling out fast, and we overestimated the supply that would be available.

I'm not going to get mad about it. If I can't get one, I'll just accept that it just wasn't meant to be. I've never owned a Microsoft console nor felt any pressing need to get one. Wanted one for this price, but maybe I just wasn't destined to own one.

    • Ameen brother!

  • Dam it missed out :( held back too long

  • Went instore and they matched this deal, scored two one for myself and one for my brother recently his original xbox broke

    • Wait so they matched it even thought it was expired. Pretty sweet you got an extra decent game over most people.

      • It was just out of stock , didnt know it was expired :)

  • BigW is selling the Slim console at $198 but no sign of cashback.

    http://www.bigw.com.au/entertainment/video-games-consoles/xb…

But their catalogue that advertise the cashback shows the E version also at $198.

    • Same with EB and HVN.

I managed to get this bundle from Big W as they ran out of Batman Arkham Origins, the problem is NFS Rivals wont install, it comes up with the message "device not allowed game only permits installing HD content on the xbox 360 hard drive", I have also tried usb stick without luck, has anyone managed to play this game on the 4gb model?

    • You will need a harddrive to install the HD content I have the same deal

  • Bundled with NFS Rivals — but doesn't actually play on this console. You'll need to go and buy a hard disk for it.

  • I have ordered a 320gb hard drive for this. Cheers
