A newer downgraded storage model will replace this very soon. This discount is to clear stock for that.
It's also apparently a cheaper matte plastic with no more gloss.
God I hate the PlayStation gloss. The strip on the slim PS2 was fine, then they made a third of the console glossy in the final revision. The fat PS3 was a finger print magnet, loved the slim not having gloss…only for it to return on the super slim. Got the launch PS4, same story as the second slim PS2, gloss out the arse, love that they made a matte version and then the slim/pro obviously had none. Ps5s stupid little Olympic torch looking design is pretty shit all round but the constant reflections and finger prints on that middle bit are the worst part.
Yes the new one will have 825 gigs storage and cheaper heat sink. Might have issues better buy now till stocks last

I bought this and was able to use that $10 discount from newsletter sign up. BTW I think it's cheaper if you just buy the digital version and the disc drive separately rather than buying the disc version.
Yeah good spotting, the difference between the two versions is usually about $70 on sale, which means better to buy the disc version if you want it, but not this time (assuming it's still available for the same $124 it's been for ages). Some people willing to pay $16 for convenience I'm sure, but I like to tinker…
