  The deal doesn't end up as good as one would imagine when taxes and charges are added.

  It's more like 35% off :)

  It's actually cheaper to fly from Sydney to Singapore for the standard sale fare of $149 without needing to enter no voucher code. The last sale was actually cheaper ex-Singapore when SYD-SIN was $149. I like how the Sydney site includes taxes and charges (proving Scoot's last second fee I've mentioned before is no accident).

  My tip:
  Fly to Singapore for ~$158 (w/ fees) Tiger Airways to somewhere in SE Asia
  Return via Kuala Lumpur for $115 (paying in MYR instead of AUD)
  Use Tiger and Air Asia to fly to anywhere in Asia for between another $100 and $300 return.
