One of the best UltraWide angle lens on the market. Price reduced likely because of the DXII version which had minimal changes. Price likely limited for stock available.

From my research thats about at least $100 cheaper than you can find shipped locally. You will just need to be ok with taking a risk on the warranty.

  just got mine for 584 from digidirect in Melbourne CBD yesterday. I reckon paying a bit extra for the local warranty is still worth it. And I got the "II" version which has better focus motor.

    Not to mention that $495 US is about $557 Australian at the moment anyway.

    Worth the extra $27 every day of the week.

  version "II" also has better multi-coating that reduces flare.

  The dxii version has a focus motor. This one doesnt. Something to keep in mind if buying for the lower end nikons like the d3xx or d5xx because they have no inbuilt motor for these type of lenses. Focus will be all manual. Not sure about canons though

    Canons have focus motors in all their lenses. None of the bodies have a motor on them.

      For the canon version of the Tokina 11-16 DX, it had an inbuilt motor from what I can tell. it was just the Nikon version that had the issue apparently. Will find out for sure when I get mine! :)

      Really excited for this lens from all the reviews!
