  • Wow, GPS units are pretty cheap these days hey :O

Yep, but sadly some junkie idiot would still smash your window to steal one.

      • had that happen to me :-(

      • Are they still doing it? I better remove the cradle from windows then.

    buy TomTom or garmin….
    Navman sucks

    I've used all three brands

    • i used both TomTom and Garmin. I find TomTom is better. More intuitive interface and guidance. More accurate safety camera alerts and speed limit. I keep my Garmin updated all the time, but for some reason, the safety camera alerts are missing or with incorrect speed limit.

If they consider the lifetime of the gps to be 3 years…. then 3 years could be lifetime maps?

    • +2

that probably the case….3 years! these so called "lifetime" are just advertising gimmick!

sadly lots of people still thinking they could get update to latest map with their 7 years old GPS….through official/genuine updates.

    60 cent cheaper @ tgg

Also a few reviews there. Overall score 8.4 out of 10

You would think I would have noticed that when I posted the link to their page in the comments above…

Anyway, I've changed the deal to reflect the lowest price.

Wow purchased a tomoto 720 in 2007 for around $600 and now look what they have become…

    • Purchased the TomTom One back then, it cost me $700. Now all the GPS cost under $100 and it's so much better.

  • Does this include international maps or do we have to "hack" the system to use those with this unit?

    • Australia and NZ map only, Or you can buy the international maps.

  • $2 delivery. They also have the TomTom Via 280 for $123 which is a good price.

I am still debating in my mind about whether I should buy a gps or trust the google maps app in my phone.
In my experience google maps has been more reliable and has more user friendly interface than the navigon app. But can't say if the gps unit will be more user friendly.
    Any thoughts?

if you're driving, a proper GPS is better, and it doesn't chew up your 3G's usage
and I trust the GPS reception more than the 3G reception(specially if it's Vodafone or Optus)

user friendly wise…..each to their own, I find google maps address entries more friendly
but a GPS unit have the speed/red light camera & speed limit/alert and it speaks!

    • If you use couple times a week, GPS is a should. More accurate than a-gps inside the phone, and phone is too hot to use as a navigation device. But I found Google maps is the most accurate map in Sydney.

  • Anyone bought one yet? Found it any good?

  • Anyone got a screen print of JB or TGG website selling this unit at ~$69. I bought this for $87 before Christmas from TGG and I can claim through price guarantee… Thanks in advance.
