Thrifty and Budget aren't too dear, usually. Hiring a trailer might cost a bit less than a van, since the weather is good. The trailer places and equipment hire places will usually do it for a lot less than those trailer hire setups at service stations.
There was a similar thread for Sydney the other day. I'd give Airtasker a try.
Bunnings apparently offers a 2 hour free courtesy trailer. I'm guessing you'll have to purchase something.
