Is there actual items page is US based or something ?

  • The website prices are crap compared to in store. In store it's 50% off the already reduced price and there are some great bargains. Online it's 50% off the original price only, much more expensive.

For example, I bought 3 pairs of shoes for $7.50 each in store. The online price is $20 each. No deal :(

I bought a stack of stuff online on Dec 28th and my experience is the reverse. Much cheaper online than in store

Looks like I was browsing a cached version. Prices now showing the same as what I paid in store!

Am I able to return the item in store if they don't fit?

    • -1

Yes as long as you have your receipt

In the email I received, it says this at the bottom of the email: "Exchange only - no refund on these items (except where applicable under the Competition and Consumer Act)" so I don't think they are accepting returns for refund, only for exchange :\ I might have a look in store tomorrow - it doesn't seem clear if the sale is in store as well?

      • It says in their t&c that for promo items no refund unless faulty etc. I'd assume 50% off would make everything a promo item.

    • I can only assume that would legally have to refund you if you ordered something thinking that it was the right size only to find out the it was too small or big

      • Not if they can replace it with the same or similar product that does fit

      • nope…no refunds. they would only offer you an exchange or a credit note if you have your receipt. If you don't have your receipt it'd have to be an exchange for an item with exactly the same style code. If it was damaged stock however they'd be happy to refund it to you.

I also received this eMail. Sorry that I did not post, but I had to leave to drop someone off.

Anyway, you sure can't 'knock' the Men's socks for .90 (cents) a pair. I was planning to go to their DFO Homebush store, but this $2 delivery deal is cheaper than the traveling cost.

    • Regarding delivery it says I have to spend at least 20 bucks to be elligible for it, and I don't need 15 pairs of thongs. Does anyone know if this is being waived?

  • What did they do that they have to say sorry?

  • how to apply the code, i dont see any box for that?

    • +1

      Are you at checkout?

      • Yeah I can't find a "enter code here" section at the checkout page where it asks for delivery and CC details. Is it the final page after that?

        • look for "promo code" on the page where you fill in your personal details
          ;) good luck

        • Found it. Is the price supposed to auto update when I hit submit? Still says my original total there.

      • saw it =) thanks

  • is this 50% off the sale down price? There's no point buying unless it's 50% off the already sale price.

seems the code is effectively just for $2 shipping. the 50% has already been taken off on the website sale.

Meh, everything they have is RUBBISH. Their website is pathetic, and based on their annoying adds on tv, I would deliberately never purchase anything from them.

I can't vouch for their website but agree the quality of products is shite!

      • they used to run a video in the shoe section of my local, a continuous loop expousing the craftsmanship and quality-control at their factory in Bendigo (?) (more like Beijing!). Rivers shoes I've had have all had the soles split and seperate from the upper.
      • the latest pair of shoes I bought; same model as a pair a few years ago, now feel like plastic.
      • their short socks used to feel hick, soft and natural, are now a thin synthetic blend
      • their shirts, Ok styles but roughly processed cotton which irritates my skin

      … yada

      • darn should have read this first. wasted $30. oh well.

      • Prior to their apparent conciliation with polyster, they used the slogan "if it's not cotton, it's rotten" - there's still a remnant of their long-abandoned commitment to natural fibers here:

I think the brand really drifted downmarket when they replaced their small shops with the bigarse high-volume "clearance" stores.
