There's a great price on the A200s for $37.49 there. Cheapest on eBay is $58 delivered.

I've had mine for 5+ years and they are really bulletproof. During that period I fluctuated between a size 28 to a 33 (and back again, and again) and they never felt like they were stretching or getting loose. I've got a few other cheaper brands/types that do well but nothing comes close to the A200s for long term comfort. They are also the quietest out of the bunch, so the swooshing noise is kept to a minimum, in case you are a ninja and want the stealthiest compression shorts to prevent chafing while out on missions, or something.

i can tell when you stopped riding :)

Great pick up,some awesome bargains to be had!

  • +3

Good find can never get them this cheap when your chasing some.. I haven't bought skins in a few years and my old ones don't have any a100, a200 or anything like that. I just use them for running and gym workouts. What are the a100's like compared to the a200's? Anyone have any experience please? Trying to find out what's better for myself, I can't seem to find comparisons online of the two and can't seem to find the a100's on the skins site.

    • +1

I would also know how they compare, is it just the aesthetics that have changed?

  • +1

Thanks OP I have also been wanting to purchase some Skins for a while! Excellent find!

  • +4

OP, here's a better link that only shows the skins and I have refined it to lowest-highest. :) http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/mobile/au/en/compression-…

  • +1

Thanks OP. That is an excellent find, and I've stocked up on A200 gear. The A400 is also discounted a lot but doesn't yet fit my affordability price bracket.

By the way, I double checked against Wiggle and these prices are comfortably cheaper.

So what's the difference between A100, A200 and A400? The last time I bought skins there was only one type, and all these other brands (like 2XU) were either non-existent in AUS or very very small… Now I'm just confused as to the variety available.

    • +1

No idea apart from price and the fact that the Skins website only mentions A400.

    • +2

I would also like to know what the difference between the a100 and a200 ranges are. There is a comparison chart on their website but it doesn't mention a100 anywhere on there at all. (unsurprisingly enough it seems mostly like marketing ramble)

      www.skins.net/en-AU/why-skins/comparison-chart.aspx

    • +3

The newer series have continually refined and location and material of the 'panels' of material. A400's have different types of material for flexibility around the knees and more room in the front for your 'junk' whereas older A1/200s don't.

I do marathons and can definitely say that the newer A400's offer more support in the right areas and are more comfortable. Although even the earlier skins will help reduce chaffing and offer good support. Hope that helps.

Thanks OP I bought 5 pairs.

      • +1

        Thanks for that, good info.

    • +1

      I have the classic, A200 and A400.
the A400 material feels slightly lighter, more confortable than the others and aesthetically it has much more subtle design, losing much of the loud yellow piping of the classic and A200.
Also there is a hidden key pocket on the A400.
Skins use the best materials, they are so comfy.
      Hope this helps.

      • +1

There is a hidden key pocket on the A200 tights.

        • +1

          It was better hidden.

    • Thanks for all the replies guys.

  • +1

The A100 range came out before the A200 range - first(?) generation from Skins.
    The A200 range came next.
The A400 is their latest and greatest.

  • +1

    for those that use skins

what would you recommend if your on the line re sizing guide

I'm 175cm and 70kg but can fluctuate 1 kg either side

    • +1

I'm 175cm and 71kg and I wear medium in the A400, both 1/2 leg and full leg fit perfectly. If you get the full leg skins they have options for long and short, get short.

    • +1

fluctuating 1kg isn't going to make any difference, go off your height.

Im 169/76 and still fit into a small top but when I bought the top I was 71/72kg

  • +1

These are cheaping then rebel thats for sure, A400 half tights

    Rebel: $69 (RRP $99)
    This site: ~$58

If you can get the free shipping it'd be better, unfortunately they don't have my size… i'm too fat to fit into XLs =(

    • +2

Be Inspired. You will fit on the next special : )

      • +1

lol i'm actually on the edge of XL and XXL… any suggestions? Also, as i said i have a huge gut… so not too sure whether the tops would fit =\

        EDIT:
lol w/e its cheap, if it doesn't fit now… I'll make it fit in half a years time… hopefully lol

        • +1

You could prob just juice or eat soup for a few days.

If your considering juice detox/diet for a short time just use a blender instead of buying an expensive juicer.

        • +1

Nah i planning on doing cardio and weights training so yeah

    • +1

yes, it's free standard shipping in my case

  • +1

I've recently gotten into running - don't own Skins yet. I'm thinking forward to what I'll wear on a run in Winter. I'm guessing the long tights would have some thermal properties in addition to their muscle technology?

Not sure I need them, but seems like a good price. Does this gear go on sale periodically, or is this unusual?

    • +5

Unusual. I've seen them at the usual store wide 15% of sale at the likes of Rebel, and around 30% off for specific types posted on this site, but never this high of discount across a lot of the Skins range.

If you are using them to run in winter then go for the shorts/half tights and wear trackies on top. Saves money so you can get another pair to use while the other is in, waiting or drying from the wash.

The other reason is that no one wants to see a guy running only in Skins, no one.

      • +1

Thanks mate - any advantage to the shorts over the half tights - or vice versa?

And is sizing generally equal to other clothing?

EDIT: Point noted about wearing additional gear over the top!

EDIT 2: Can you recommend a particular garment - there are many variants - A100, A200 etc!

Finally - any point really on getting upper-body wear?

        • As for Skins I've only had the A200s. I bought them 5 years ago and they still are going strong despite being in the weekly wash on normal cycle (they don't advise it) and they have been great.

I've tried full tights and have a barely used set of Pumas that I really regret purchasing. I was just too 'aware' that I was wearing tights when in full and it didn't feel comfortable at all. The half tights feel like most briefs with maybe a little more compression. My main concern was for chaffing (thick thighs) and half tights do that perfectly.

I don't particularly buy into a lot of the other effects that compression tights offer, i.e. better circulation.

You are going to need more than 1 pair (unless you do a load of washing between every run) but it can get expensive, I've got a few other cheaper branded ones that do a good job and they were around $10 from BigW and Kmart when on special (down from around $25).

As for size I can't really help you out. Mine have served me well fluctuating between a 28 and 33 pants size and I believe they are a medium (size and washing label faded a long time ago) - 172cm tall.

        • +1

Thanks for the advice - much appreciated.

        • -1

I prefer the half tights, I have a pair of shorts and found them a little too short and I would get chaffing right where the shorts ended, the half tights olved this. I've got one original pair and one of the A400's and they both do the job however I use the A400's on race days (probably placebo but I feel better in them)

As for upper body wear I think it's just wank factor ;)

    • +1

      I use them for bushwalking,

They've been amazing help in terms of keeping my muscles warm and 'together', I don't cramp up as easily.

I refer compression gear for anyone who needs a 'leg up' for any physical activity
