This particular unit is endosed by the Australian government switchover program

I can find no evidence on the page you linked, or several linked off it, that this item is in any way endorsed by the Australian government. Further, governments tend not to endorse equipment or suppliers, because it opens them up to complaints and lawsuits from the suppliers they didn't endorse (they'll certify equipment, but via a scheme that's open to all); so I think your claim is unlikely.

Downmodding for deceptive listing (even though the mods have already removed some of it).

This is 100% endorsed by the Government as it was the unit being supplied under the scheme. We are clearing the remaining stock under cost. You can call the scheme organisers and they will tell you. They have supplied tens of thousands of these units under the scheme and it has to be endorsed or it can not be subsidised under the scheme.

  • Does it require antenna ? Or free from air ? My lease apartment doesn't allow any installation on balconies.

    • http://www.esold.com.au/digital-tv-radio-indoor-amplified-an… this should be more than enough for good reception areas as it is an indoor amplified antenna. Also on special at the moment.

      • Does the amplifier indoor antenna work well with the set top box ? Though I am not expecting HD quality :) but atleast expect clear images. Currently I have foxtel connection, but I would like to switch to free to air connection

  • Do you have a screenshot of what the EPG looks like?

    • Front face of STB on user manual is different than the one displayed on your site.
Can you provide the actual model number of the STB?
      Thanks

This box has no PVR function, the USB socket is for "media playback and firmware upgrade" only.

  • Can this work on my Dell 2007fpb monitor? It has no audio in but can the audio go to my stereo or something?

    It has these connections:

    1 x VGA - 15 pin HD D-Sub (HD-15),
    1 x DVI-D - 24 pin digital DVI,
    1 x S-video input - 4 pin mini-DIN,
    1 x Composite video input - RCA,

  • Out of stock…

  • I ordered a couple as TV tuners for a couple of MAME arcade machines & at $10, meh, why not.

They arrived today - nice little boxes. One thing has me intrigued. The boxes have been opened - the original serial numbers scribbled out with black texta and a new serial number sticker stuck to the underside. Actually the power supply and power consumption figures were also obscured, but I'm guessing this wasn't intentional.

There must be a reason. Is there any change in functionality to the specs or has someone stuffed the serial numbering up at the factory?

BTW - the texta just rubs off…
