Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer 7.1Ch Sound Card ONLY $68.90 includding shipping

262

EDIT 2: Price has gone up to $69, but still a decent deal if you can pick it up. If not, shipping is $14 to WA, cheaper shipping on the Eastern states.

EDIT: No stock left, according to "theological", but they are re-stocking it and should be back in a couple of days. I have purchased mine yesterday around 4, but I'm still waiting for payment to go through.

Found this deal on staticICE when I almost bought one used. It's 54.90 but would need $14 shipping to WA. Usually go for at least $100, so I think it's a bargain. First post, so please be nice.

  • Heh, I've had this on my watch list for a couple of weeks now, despite it being a 'weekly' special… it's certainly the cheapest around at the moment!

Reason I haven't bought it yet is because I'm tossing up between this and the new Logi G35 headset which apparently has it's own hardware for audio. That and I may not be able to tell the difference in audio quality with my current headset and speakers…

I'd give an extra +1 if I could for including shipping costs up front.

  • anyon have this? any issues with vista or windows 7?

    • Though I'm not talking from experience on the page it lists Vista requirements, so presumably works quite fine..

      Windows Vista™:
      Genuine Intel® Pentium® III 1 GHz, AMD® 1 GHz processor or faster
Intel, AMD or 100% compatible motherboard chipset
      Microsoft Windows Vista™ 32-bit or 64-bit
      512 MB RAM
600 MB of free hard disk space
Available PCI 2.1 compliant slot (PCI 2.2 and 2.3 also supported)
Headphones or amplified speakers (available separately)
      CD-ROM drive installed
Internet connection is required to obtain free PowerDVD players with Dolby® Digital and DTS™ decoding

  • Just submitted my order. Though seems theres a process it goes through before the final confirmation. Good price and so glad you posted this. Thanks mate, definitely deserves a +1 from everyone!

I was once a fan of sound cards but not anymore. Had most cards since sound blaster 16 to audigy platium ex

Then I gave onboard sound a try and could not tell the difference lol!

guess what! I stuck with it… saved me heaps on buying expensive sound cards.

    • onboard has improved, but try getting better speakers/headphones. You'll notice the difference if using analog outputs.

Nice find! BTW anyone considering these cards and thinking of saving a few dollars by getting the lower priced "XtremeAudio" model instead would do well to have a read of the wikipedia page on these cards.

Don't be fooled: the XtremeAudio is not a 'real' X-Fi card, essentially just a rebranded Audigy. So, bottom line - get this instead.

        Remove your -ve
Not only does a deal not deserve a negative cos it sells out but the fact they are getting more stock should be enough to not warrant it. Stupid -ve

  • +1

yep i got two emails - one saying no stock and the other saying they have new shipment :)
just paid 66.90 for shipping to sydney, nsw
exactly what i needed for my rig!

  • $69 for shipment to Melbourne, but they said they would send invoice so it could more or less. Thanks for awesome deal! +1

Edit: Did it go up in price? Now it's $69 + $12 for shipping!?

  • Yeah, has gone up, but still a good price. But this has definitely tipped me more towards the G35 lol

  • It is $14 to Perth. Still a very good deal.

  • i've got an x-fi card but it pops all the time and has no stereo mix.So i'd buy a better card with better support.
