  • Apparently you also can a Win 8 starter pack

  • Got one of these during last year's BUILD conference, and couldn't love it more.
It even comes with Office 2013 Home.

Screen viewing angle is pretty poor and the wifi is a bit dodgy, but the battery life is amazing.
I keep this tablet on my bed and use it every night (netflix, youtube), and it lasts me nearly a full week on a single charge.

And it's also (just) powerful enough to run VS2013 to make it useful for me.

  • The one thing that people really need to be aware of is that, multiple reviewers gave this tablet a reaming for its terrible screen quality, so if a good screen is high on your list of needs in a device, dont buy this…

  • Apparently the Toshiba Encore at 349.00 is a better deal.

A quad core Atom CPU is much faster than A dual core Atom CPU. The extra value of CPU strength is well over that cash back.
And it also comes with Office 2013.

    • I think that depends upon the usage of the device. I bought a dual core Atom Windows 8 tab early last year for my wife and her primary uses are for social media and watching netflix. I also use it as an e-reader. For those less cpu intensive tasks it is perfectly adequate, with very little delay in any interfaces both in apps or in the OS. It gets used perhaps 3-4 hours per day and lasts on average about 3 or 4 days between charges.
