    im pretty sure that e cigarettes are banned because there isn't a proper standard for them as of yet. but I might be wrong…

      They are banned as it falls under the Tobacco Advertising Prohibition Act 1992. There are a whole number of legal issues around tobacco related products. Lighters, IMO, are a multi purpose item that doesn't have any legal restrictions however we may need to seek further legal advice.

        I would question this lighter's "multi purpose" usage Mod. Look at the shape and hole, its clearly made for one purpose and that is to light a cigarette. That and the fact that it is advertised as a cigarette lighter.

        I was under the impression the devices themselves are legal so long as they do not claim to be "therapeutic" etc.
        Plus liquid nicotine is fine to import so long as is not labeled "therapeutic" or "tobacco replacement".
