7" Laser eTouch Tablet $49 after Cashback ($89 before) [Fyshwick, ACT]

20

I saw this ad in this week's Chronicle newspaper. Seems to be the cheapest price for this tablet, and I'm pretty sure this tablet is already pretty damn cheap! This is an ad for the Domayne store in Fyshwick, it's not on their website so I'm not sure if it's for other stores.

In my experience these low-end tablets can be pretty frustrating but I'd consider getting simply to, in my case, replace books of sheet music.

EDIT - I think these are the specs here http://www.laserco.net/products/e-readers/tablet/MID-742, it's not on the Domayne website. Thanks, mjacd

  • Specs? And any idea about battery life? I am thinking about getting one for the kids. Will it last a few hours of game playing?

    • would be quite surprised if it will do any game playing, but will wait and see. I know you can import a basic single core a10 unit that will for $60-70, avoid resistive units like the plague

Yeah its probably an Allwinner A10 or A13 Chip inside, basic gaming it'll do. But it won't last long, according to the link mjacd listed below its a 2200mAh battery. I had an A13 tablet before with the same size battery and only lasted about 2 hrs of use. Surprisingly though its standby power usage was tiny though it could be different with this unit. If you're willing to risk china tabs you could get a basic dual core with a 1024x600 7 in screen for a similar price.

Risk is relative, this in itself is a china tablet surely

    • Just as an assumption it's probably the Actions ATM7029 because of that price range, you typically see chinatabs with that spec around 80$. Chipset is okay for general use but gaming sucks because of the nonstandard Vivante GC1000 GPU.

  • How odd not giving any of the specifications out…

  • possibly this is it from BigW
