Know nothing about prostate cancer, got 5/5. Well played.

  • Great job OP!

  • I thought the prostate was that fun bit between the testes and the prune.
    1 out of 5. FAIL

That would be the Gooch! Forgive me for not referring to it in the common vernacular ;)

  • Thumbs up for Bill Bailey

    • Better than the alternative.

    • Index finger up for him.

Any male 45 or over who hasn't had a PSA blood test get thee down to your local quack and book in.

    • +2

I would suggest any male 35 or over - next time you're doing blood test just get your GP to add PSA test.
I was diagnosed with prostate cancer at 41 only by asking my GP for PSA test.
If I didn't I would not be here by now.
The youngest guy diagnosed with prostate cancer I know of was 34. He's no longer alive as by the time he was diagnosed it was too late.
Just want to say he's was a rare case, majority of guys get diagnosed much earlier, with much better results.

  • Thought I saw free bagel but did the test anyway. Learnt something from 2 wrong answers.

  • done, i learnt things with this quiz

  • Great post, done. Now, how about someone in Australia do similar?

I’m only 47 and have had to have 2 series of biopsies because of high PSA readings, luckily all good at this stage. If there is a history of prostate cancer in your family speak to your doctor about have yourself checked if you’re over 40. I had my first scare at 44.
    Support this great cause.

    • Good on you for getting the message out there! Can I ask, did you have any symptoms or was a health care professional's recommendation that a PSA test be done the start of it?

Great post. Everyone should be getting on board this. Apparently I thought the prostate was located in the testicles. D'oh. 4 out of 5.

Also shared with my coursemates (radiation therapy) and a worldwide radiation therapist facebook group :) We treat buttloads (hehe) of prostate cancer patients everyday!

  • Done. Good find OP. 5/5, didn't realise I knew that much, probably just guesses..

  • I was gypped! My "research" led me to believe that the prostate was walnut-sized, so marble (Tombowler or larger) was the closest fit, or so I thought. They must have large walnuts in the UK.

PS Next time, I won't use examination gloves that I bought via OzBargain - not sensitive enough :(

  • +1, great find OP!

  • Bill Bailey!!! Yeah Boy!
Reminds me of black books :)

  • What a fun test!

Got mine checked this week! Real men aren't scared of the doctor ;-)

PS. The cost of sending a free pin to Aust will negate the 50p to prostate cancer research

I thought one was a trick question.
Question 3: 1 in 8 men will be diagnosed…How many black men will be diagnosed?

I selected 1 in 8. The question didn't specify race in the first part.

  • I'd also like to thank you for alarming me to the declining dollar! My upcoming trip to Vietnam/Cambodia is looking a bit more expensive now…

prostrate cancer is a pain in the arse.

    • More likely to be a pain in the penis.

  • Awesome work OP.

  • This is back to a 50 thousand target.

  • about 5000 more to reach target

  • got mine today!

    • Got mine too couple of days ago.

  • What a great idea.
Anyone know if this message counts down?

We need 142,322 new signings. Please share now…

  • Iceland will donate 50p for every person who completes the test and signs up to Men United to a maximum value of £25,000. The maximum donation amount has been reached, however different sponsors come and go so possibly not expired yet. In other words, expired for now but will be possibly be back on again.
