Been using for over a month and coming from a Panasonic plasma (purchased 4 years ago) this TV is on par if not better. I had read many reviews but at the end of the day you need to see or use this TV yourself to make proper judgement. The Magic remote is a cool little device, and acts like a mouse when using the Smart TV functions. I also installed the app and can use my phone as a remote. I have it hooked up to the PC, home theater and PS3. I honestly cannot fault this TV for the price its a bargain.

I haven't used this Plasma in particular, but my general rule with Plasma TVs is to go for the top of the range, or not get one at all.
I own a two year old equivalent model, and the image quality is very good at night, though the seemingly complete lack of a UV filter & the not-so-good greyish black levels are huge let downs. I would suggest a basic LED instead, or stretch the budget a little for a series 6 Samsung or similar, which seem to be hitting clearance prices often enough, like this deal last week.

iirc LG tvs haven't got great reliability. Then again my father in laws sony tv died totally after 14 months. I've got two samsung plasmas going strong so far after 5 years.
Also I had a samsung colour laser that was bloody awful. Wouldn't pull in paper, streaky, eventually broke and I hadn't even used up any of the colour cartridges.

What type of 3D Glasses does this use? How much for additional pairs?
Think I've answered my own Q - looks like its Active Shutter and additional pairs could be $50 - anyone know of cheaper options?
Only 1 HDMI input? That seems low - are the specs on the LG website correct - Bing Lee site says 3.

LG website says: 2 side HDMIs and 1 rear HDMI. so 3 in total.

Tbo I really don't think LG competes with Samsung and especially not Panasonic in plasma land. The subtle price differences between LG and Samsung seems to me to be a no brainer, go for Samsung.
What's the ST series 50 inch Panasonic going for now? Still outperforms anything LCD, brilliant panel.
