This isn't really a bargain. I'm sure this is the normal price. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

    • Post a better price. Simple.

55LA6230 seems to be similar price. Newer model?

I don't get why my post was downvoted. It seems you guys agree with me?

        I'm confused.

"Best price was AU$ 1296.00 on 31 Dec 2013" so may have further hagglability

  • I was looking at this TV at the end of the Year (and still looking), it was $100 cheaper at JB then.

Also appliance Central has the 55LA6230 for $1280 including delivery, not sure what the difference is between the 2 models though as details are not listed correctly.

    http://appliancecentral.com.au/shop/index.php?route=product/…

  • Can't see any difference to the 55LA6230 for about 100.- less

    https://www.videopro.com.au/p-6480-lg-55-55la6230-3d-full-hd…

    • Based on LG's website, the LA6200 includes a Magic Remote while the LA6230 is only "compatible". The LA6200 also seems to decode more video formats than the LA6230. If you want to find out more, head over there.

    • Even if they were spec matchups (which quarry's post indicates they aren't):

Videopro has been unable to receive stock of this product due to a manufacturing delay and does not have an ETA at this stage.

No stock. No ETA on stock.

      • Appliance Central appears to have stock.

I got this one yesterday, and the matching LG 3d bluray player, have to say it was dead simple to set up - even connecting to the household wireless network. The quality of the units is good, the magic remote is a bit of a gimmick at start but I am finding myself using it more and more.

Overall it was a good deal from JB, I went to other places looking for a 50 inch deal (Joyce Mayne, Harvey Norma, Good Guys and DSE) and this was the best.

surely theres a better 200Hz model from either LG or Samsung out there for about the same price?

I've got one, had it for about 18months now, and I would say the magic remote is hardly worth it, like I never use it. Generally it is a good tv and the smart part of it is well done, but I definitely regret selling my plasma as the LED picture quality for Free-to-air isn't in the same league. But hook a bluray to it and play some 3D and your socks WILL BE blown off. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be that much new 3D content at the moment. We have about 20 pairs of 3D glasses now as it uses the same ones as in the cinema.
Final word - if you have great plasma now, stick with it. If you are upgrading from another LED then go for it as this is a really well set out and fully featured tv.
