Free shipment if overall checkout amount > $30

    • I just tried putting 3 watches into the cart to test it; it still appears to charge a P&H fee.

      • But it has a line below that said "Discount" and the final amount you need to pay is without the P&H fee. Please check.

        • Strange, I don't seem to have that "Discount" when I use my postcode.

Let me try with another product to see if it works.

EDIT: Alright, the Casio themselves don't come with free P&H when I try it but if you add another product to make it $30 then it works.

The link I post works for me. If you want to try from their home page, click the "Warehouse Sale ! Bargain Hunters, Hop To It!", go to Page 6 and roll down, Click the Casio Watch. If you choose more than one watch that add up more than $30 the P&H become free. You can also add other items to make up the total amount more than $30 to get ride of P&H.

Thanks you're right. Your link works but the OP didn't.
Anyway, I'll browse around to see what I can get for over $30. Not sure what I'd do with 3 Casios! Thanks again.

        • Same here :[

  • hmm this one says it has "LED light with afterglow"

I bought a Casio HDD S100 ( no -1 av )looks just like this one but it doesn't have an led light which is really annoying. before buying i would suggest confirming with COTD that this one does have an led kight.

what mine does is flash a little light icon when it needs to go out in the sun for battery recharge

    • It would appear that the CF model does have a light, but not this one. Well, not according to Casio and others.

  • Want one but postage kills it. Thinking about buying that esky :/

nice find among the CatchOfTheDay garbage. Thanks.

    • Their shipping fee usually is overkill…

love the watch but cant find any other items to get free shipping :(

    • me2 :(

  • Would anyone local be interested in one of these. I am around Malvern East and would consider ordering 3 if 2 others promise to come by and pay/pick theirs up.

    • I'm In.. can pay & pick up around CBD..

  • Are we sure is not a chasio?

  • Nice price for a brand name, but as a casual watch collector I don't see much point to a cheap solar powered watch, I mean you can buy a cheap lithium powered watch that will run for 5 to 10 years on one battery without the hassle of charging it in sunlight, solar powered G Shock(which I have) and multi sensor types that use more power sure, but not a fair comparison in terms of price

  • got one with a nappy bin ($13) and a monkey pool for my daughter ($10). free shipping. score!

  • This solar powered watch brings back memories. It used to be the coolest thing in primary school back in '89. Unfortunately I bought a version that did not have internal batteries, and would lose time when the sun went down. I had to put it under the lamp in the evening to keep it going. Fond memories.

  • "Approx. battery life: 14 days on full charge (without further exposure to light)"
It appears this watch only has a capacitor not a rechargeable battery, this may be a concern to some if you are unable to recharge this in the sun regularly

    • damn! 14 days! though it would be much less. wonder how long it takes to get full charge.

      • t*hought

        • goddamn typos… thought*

wonder how long it takes to get full charge.

First time you get the watch, charge it all day outside or near a window. After that you should be good keeping it going with only a bit of sun only now and then (nothing to stress over). If you don't get enough sun, a little icon pops up on the LCD indicating that you should give it some, and that icon can be there for quite a while as far as I can tell (while timekeeping continues normally). It won't just turn off your watch abruptly.

At least that's what happens with mine (which is very similar to the model being offered here) http://www.casio.com/products/Watches/Classic/AL190W-1AV/

    • After 25 years, they have the technology to make it last 14 days. That is fantastic.

The capacitor is what got me more interested in a model like it about a year ago, since battery chemistry doesn't last long being charged and discharged constantly, compared to capacitors. That's the theory on these capacitors anyway. I guess it's early days yet.

I've been happy with the AL-190W http://www.casio.com/products/Watches/Classic/AL190W-1AV/ (similar to this watch from COTD, only slimmer and 50M water resistant). I bought it over a year ago. Text on the watch face says "BATTERYLESS" and it raised my Tech Lust to fever pitch since I know how batteries can age and not hold charge with age (and eventually need replacement).

My model is only rated 50M but is slimmer and less obtrusive than this model (more of a classic look), but this one being offered here at COTD is rated 200M Water Resistance (water resistance is measured with the watch not being moved about in water, so realistically it's far less than that). Amazon sells it for just slightly more.

I love my Casio (so far). If you give it a bit of direct sun once a week or two, it should be enough for you to never see the icon that indicates you need to give it some sun. Quite amazing devices but I guess we'll see how long these capacitors last, eh.

      vampires: buy a battery-powered watch ;)

  • Hope you all got this: http://www.catchoftheday.com.au/event/36501/product/bendaroo… for $0.00 - who cares if you don't need it - it's free! I also thought $15 for 40*AAA batteries with a 2017 expiration date wasn't bad (http://www.catchoftheday.com.au/event/36593/product/40-x-dur…). Throw in an octopus for $3.95 (http://www.catchoftheday.com.au/event/36501/product/wild-rep…) and you're over the $30 mark.

  • Bugger ya, I just spent $113 lol been waiting for a free shipping.

    • What did you get?

      • Coffee, bed sheets, dishwasher tabs, underwear and a watch.

  • item expired?

    • All gone :-(

    • still working here. apparently offer extended for another 12 hours as I write this.

  • Well, it arrived. Model number is 3274. Not that it's hard to setup, but the manual is here: http://support.casio.com/en/manual/009/qw3274.pdf

  • I'd say the printed blue text above & below the watch face will probably wear away on this watch (IMO it is better without it).

Good value for this price, but Amazon has them for a little more $ and with a lot more scope to bundle other (useful) things in your order (and a lot more models to choose from, and far better customer service). The guts of the watch are indeed identical to http://www.casio.com/products/Watches/Classic/AL190W-1AV/ (same LCD, same solar panel, and both don't have a light). As the pics indicate, this one comes with larger plastic side buttons though (not metal) and of course the higher 200M water resistance.

  • mines srill "in transit" with only paper work being lodged to auspost. still hasn't left the warehouse. bloody slow!

    • srill = still

  • love this watch!
