  • Prolly 2 in store, exDemo, or some other disappointing factoid from the classy guys at CentreCon.

  • Does it play flash well? I want one for streaming stuff online.

    • I got one of these for $199 from Dick Smith. I only really play flash from NBA.com and it works fine. In XBMC (or other media players), can playback full HD movies streamed from my server (in XBMC, you need to turn off DXVA though, otherwise the video does not work properly).

Windows is snappy enough. IMHO, much better than an android tablet (as it can actually run flash properly, as well as windows apps)and for $199 was cheaper too.

  • trying to work out if this is full windows 8
how would this rate against a T100?

    • +1

      Full Windows 8.

T100 would comfortably out-perform it and then some, considering the T100's Bay Trail CPU vs. the older Atom in the ME400C. Also this doesn't come with a keyboard dock.

    • Performance wise the T100 smokes the ME400C. You also get USB 3, the keyboard dock longer battery life and full Office 2013 Home & Student for around $150 more than this. At the moment all the T100's seem to be about $550 though.

      • very true, i noticed recently OW hiked up the T100 normal price from $528 to $548, stocks must be pretty low, in fact i just checked, out of stock online!

      • thanks for that .. am still bitter i did not pounce when the t100 was 400 bucks…
sigh - will have to wait a little while.

I've been keeping an eye on the price of this tab at C-Com & it's been like this for about 6 weeks or so & I'd imagine it would stay that way as they aren't selling as fast as they'd like because of the T100 you can get for not much more.

FYI, it is/was cheaper at DSE for $199 if you can find one &/or pricematch.

If C-Com drops it to anywhere between $199-230, I'll jump on it.

    If you're reading this, I'm waiting…
