plus $1500 for council-approved fence and building permit. :)

    Or 4m of camouflage netting.

    • Yeah I heard the council were starting to use aerial surveillance and possibly quad copters with cams to fly over and find places with small pools … bastards.

Hmmm, I wonder how many packs of those plastic balls I would need to fill this and make it a ball pit for my daughter?

    • Around 170.

      • +5

Not sure if it will work as a ball pit. From the picture, I'm guessing that that the top rim only floats if there is water in the pool.

Side wall is held up by water pressure,

  • Just the pump is worth the price.

    • You overestimate the pump. Its like a slightly bigger version of the one in a goldfish tank.

      • the pump in the fish tank is a gernie compared to these pumps.
pantyhose on a coathangar does a better job. those large chlorine tablets have worked well too.

  • hmmm, I have a 320 cm diameter space under my house.
could I, if it were covered, use this as a rain water tank?

    • +1

I wouldn't recommend it. The top rim is inflated and needs to be topped up with air every second day. If the top rim deflates the walls will drop and let the water out.

      • Ahh, we've only had ours up for about 2 months, full of water and have not yet needed to top up with any air, not even once. Has been used many times too. Best investment we have made over the holidays to keep kids happy. I would imagine if it did need topping up, then it has a hole in it somewhere.

5500L of water under your house in a fragile open topped container. I foresee absolutely no problems with this.

      • +1

the sides could be shored up with ply 8' X 4' sheets on their sides. the rim could be attached to the top edge of the ply . the pool is basically a bladder to hold the water. . placed on smooth surface (no risk of puncture). nothing to knock into it. out of the sun so no UV damage. theoretically it would work.

5500ltr water tank and pump for $39. ozbargain engineering

  • Saw them for $29 now and a bigger version is $39

    • At Kmart? How much bigger?

      • I saw the other version and the box is bigger but the dimensions listed on it are identical. The difference is one has a frame that seems to be made out of PVC pipes rather than being inflatable.
When I bought mine about 4 days ago, the inflatable one was $39 and the one with a frame around it was $69, but they may have been reduced even more by now.
