op why revise your post after people voted for it and comments about the elite wifi were made in https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/133129#comment-1834807?

not to mention i linked to this deal there as well :)

Sanitarium Up & Go Liquid Breakfast 3x250ml $2

or is it because so good soy milk is not made from whole soybeans but rather only 3.5% soy protein?

  • Is this LTE or HSPA only?

    • +6

Lol LTE for 10$ :P…wishful thinking.
A small 5 sec google says its HSPA 21Mbps All 3G Aus Bands.

  • Can it be unlocked?

  • Nothing beats free:) I won a 4g WiFi in telstras I spay comp on facebook, and unlocked it thanks to Regenage on whirlpool (and here)

    • +3

Wow, you had to spay something to win? That's a bit extreme.

      • +1

I spy. Damm phone keyboards :'(

  • Can we use the Telstra starter kit from this week offer to "top-up" the data for this wireless modem somehow?

    • "top-up" - NO "use" - YES

You would need to activate the starter kit as a new number - because it's being used for data - the number itself is irrelevant.

If you activate as the prepaid Micro SIM for iPad offer - your $30 will get you 3GB with 30 days expiry. The system doesn't care if it's actually a micro SIM or not :)

I do it all the time - a new one every month - if there's any data/balance left you can't roll it over - I use it to buy stuff from the Google Play Store

      • Hey sparky,

Is it possible to use the credit in in-app purchases? or only for the initial cost of the app from Play?

        • Sorry, don't know. I don't do in-app purchases… or use any apps that need them :)

  • If you still have $30 gift cards from the Liquorland AMEX/Facebook deal, buy a $30 gift card, buy this thing for $10, pay with your existing $30 gift card, and make up the $10 in cash/eftpos.

That's if you want to buy this without spending $30 first and you already have a gift card.

    • +1

Sorry Fineprint says you cant buy gift cards, Telstra elite modems or tobacco products to get this offer.

  • 1GB/30 days…… That sucks.

The last Coles deal was 5GB/30 Days and a few months before that 5GB/90 Days.

  • Do I have to activate the sim card immediately?

  • +1

Cool, grabbed one of these, unlocked it for free with dccrap.

Then loaded factory ZTE firmware on it and what a difference.

Now it does SMS and Auto APN. Tried it with Telstra, VF and Optus (Woolworths) SIM and it connected all 3 times without me entering anything for APN.

I now have to find stock firmware for my ZTE MF91

    Thanks OP.

  • Does the 30 day expiry start when you purchase it, or activate it? I want it but don't need it just yet.

    • +1

You can take your time, mine says expire for the included SIM of 04 OCT 2015

  • Sparky, do I cut down the sim which comes with the modem, put it in my iPad and then activate and I get 3 GB data?

    • +1

NO - the 3GB is what you can get with the $30 starter kit offer. You find these on sale from time to time for $10/$15.

You would be able to cut this offer's included SIM - or get a free SIM replacement at any Telstra outlet - and use the 1GB of data that comes included

      • OK that's great thanks!

  • Thanks op picked one up yesterday!

Went to Fairfield West Coles with my receipt this afternoon and pointed to the large poster on the service desk about the Telstra Dongle deal and they said its "Out of Stock ages ago" asked if I could have my name on a waiting list and they said no. Why is the poster still there then??

Anyone know of known Coles around 2166 that has Dongles left?

    Thanks in advance :)

    • +1

They can order them in. The Coles in Sandy Bay said they would get some more in now there was some interest.

Scored one yesterday, and unlocked within 10 minutes using Hexecutes method…happy days :D

  • anyone know where these are in stock in Melb ?

  • Been trying my luck to get one too, the lady at the counter told me I can get a rain check if they still have no stock come Monday.

  • Does anyone have a copy of last weeks Coles catalog? Swear the modem deal went until the 25th in the fine print.

    • it might have been spend $30 by the 18th to buy the modem for $10 by the 25th?

      • That's what I thought it said. Just trying to locate a catalogue so I can show the snobby little buggas at Coles that have told me to come back each day to check for stock - which they now have, but are claiming it's not longer on special.

        • It was definitely until the 25th. Picked one up yesterday and the signs were still up in store.

The staff member you dealt with probably didn't know that they have to scan a promotional barcode they keep behind the counter for the discount to apply. I had to step them through it to get mine.

        • +2

          Correct. Just pickup one today.

          Hope this OK.

        • Thanks!

  • Grabbed one today for $10 from Coles at Drouin, VIC - Many tks to OP!!

  • Just tried my optus sim from my phone in this device and it works perfectly fine! :)

Just signed up for a BYO sim with Virgin Mobile $40 gets me 12gb of data, but seem to be having issues connecting at the moment, I think it must be my sim isn't fully activated yet, will give virgin a call and see what they say :) it's definitely not my device.

    • Turned out after going into a store, they replaced the sim, but the issue was still there!

So after a little bit of checking settings etc, it was discovered the APN setting was originally set to "YESINTERNET"

But it needed to be changed to "Virginbroadband" changed the setting and all sweet! :)

The guy at virgin was shocked when I told him I only paid $10 for the MF60.. I asked him how much for a virgin branded MF62 he said $99 =)
