  • Seems to get favourable reviews from users on Amazon

    • this has the most accurate GPS receiver compared to the Etrex 20/30 and Oregon 600.

The main con with this unit is it is heavier and large and loser resolution screen compared to Etrex 20
2 AA lithium battery can last at least 6 days.

I would have been happy with the Etrex 20 but cannot find a good bargain on it.

  • Always fancy one of these handheld GPS units, but for someone who don't go trekking I don't see much point of getting one. iPhone and Android smartphones do sell trekking apps but I am sure they are not as sensitive in picking satellite signals and battery won't last as long as well.

    • If you do not do hiking, save your $$$.

I have one of these. Good for geocaching. It's nice and solid.

The Garmin UI is starting to get a little stale, but when you get used to it it's fairly flexible.

You can get street maps for these (and other Garmin devices) for free: http://garmin.openstreetmap.nl
