I'd be all over this if you were in WA :P

    • Hi 'Themojorising',

As a matter of fact we are actually based in Perth :)

Do you have a preferred charter operator?

Never been on a charter myself. Used to beach fish with the grandfather for herring and the rest of the bread and butter before he gave up that nasty oxygen habit of his.

Been getting back into fishing lately albeit out on a mates boat - lost a tuna or something similar looking before it got near the boat, next cast a miserable ray took off with my lure never to be seen again.

I have a lot to learn obviously.

  • I would be thinking twice about this deal, if you plan eating your catch.

Australian Salmon is not on the list - must be OK ;)

    • Keeping and eating your catch is only part of the experience. For most it is about getting out on the water and catching fish while having a good time, something non-boat owners don't get a chance to do very often.

In regards to the link, the food authority recommends:
"No seafood caught west of the Sydney Harbour Bridge should be eaten" - the charter does not fish this area.

In actual fact, the amount of seafood the food authority recommends you can eat per month is generally more that the average person would eat. For example, the maximum monthly recommended intake of Dusky flathead is 1.8kg. That's a lot of flathead. For species like Tailor the recommended max monthly intake is only 180g, in this instance they are better off released than kept to eat.

Rep: Why is the url say
    getfishing.com.au/product/sydney-harbour-twilight-fishing-charter-plus-dinner-drinks-for-only-179-normally-395/

versus your title : Sydney Harbour Twilight Fishing Charter Plus Dinner & Drinks for only $99, normally $295!

    $179 versus $99?

Ah good point, Beau Kaunta! We hadn't even noticed that.

The last time we ran this same deal we ran it coinciding with another deal from the same provider. The other deal was an all day deep sea charter for $179 down from $395, also 66% off. So it looks like our developer has somehow made the URL a cross between the two deals…strange. Despite this, the deal itself remains correct as well as all of the info on the page including the before and after price.

Been on the charter before. Not recommended.
