    • Beats similarly priced chinese tabs by a fair margin in the battery, ram and rom departments by a fair margin. Typical chinese tabs will have 2000-2500 mAh batteries, 512mb ram and 4gb rom at this price.

      Good Deal.

    $25 and it would be a bargain….

wow, this has all the spec of my kids 3 year old Toshiba Thrive 7". Only paid $199 for it way back then (thank you OzB and Officeworks price match policy!)

  • I was about to comment that these super cheap BigW/Woolies/Coles tablets are unusable rubbish, but this thing actually looks quite decent. Dual Core A9, 1GB Ram, 1024x600, 4000mah, 8GB storage…

    Nice find! :)

    • Quite right. I was surprised too.

  • Just need to know if the screen is decent ie. IPS

    • +4

If you are going to be a display-snob, you should demand super-AMOLED. IPS is so last year.

      • What is super-AMOLED? Have they improved AMOLED so it doesn't fade after two years?

        • You get super amoled if you are a display snob and can afford the whopping $74. :-)

      • +1

Far from snobby for a cheap tab, but there are some horrendous screens on some low end tablets. The ainol tabs don't all have UPS but even the ones that don't are decent enough

ah … I think maybe you said "ie" when you meant to say " e.g. " ? - a common but annoying error, which completely changes the meaning.

        • Actually yes, I either had a brain fart or my predictive text let me down, but yes I am not saying g it has to be its, just that it should be decent, and I have seen decent non it's screens.

Have no idea why someone would down vote you though?

  • Anyone know if it's got a GPS receiver?

  • I picked one up just now. Feel free to ask any questions.

    • I was at BigW but couldn't find it, did they have it behind the counter?

      • in a locked display case alongside the apple counter.

kind gentlemen was happy to give it to me for the online price.

    • No, please, it can't be on gingerbread?!

    • The spec sheet isnt right!

      • It's on jelly beans.

      • correct specs below.

    • did u linked the right techspec? all wrong
ram 512, screem resolution 800, CPU single core…..

Hi everyone. I supply the Nextbook to Big W and if anyone does buy one and could take the time to write a quick review on the Big W site, it would be greatly appreciated. No problem if not, but we think it's a great tablet for the price. I don't know all the rules for the forum, so apologies if this is out of line!

    Now it's back to $148.

    What happened?

    • +1

This happens often I think, they underestimate the demand that the product would receive when priced that low and then many people purchase it. They then think oh it's in demand again raise the price i.e.
That cheap Cyclops road bike from target was originally cheaper, then as people bought it the price fluctuated more. Likewise with that HTC ChaCha from EB Games, It was first 56$ then people bought it. They then raised the price to $75 which then drove off demand, consequently they lowered it again but down to $65. I'd be willing to bet the same will happen with this product, it'll probably go down again in price but not as much as previous.

  • Has anyone found a decent cover/case for this?

    • not yet. however i did find screen protectors. i'll let you know when i do find a cover.
