You're invited to Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre's (MCEC) free public event Open Space on Thursday 20 February 2014 as part of national Business Events Week.

Open Space will showcase innovation with key note speakers including Todd Sampson, Dr Ken Cato and Dr Cathy Foley.

Open Space will highlight the creative use of MCEC's spaces, technology and social media innovations, green design and a taste of its award-winning food using fresh Victorian produce.

Thursday 20 February 2014
11.30am - 2.30pm

A convention about conventions however there will be confirmed gourmet free food. That's lunch covered.

the main foyer will be transformed into a hawker-style food market, showcasing the fine work of MCEC's talented in-house chefs with fresh, local Victorian produce.

      Nope. They are 3 respected speakers. Ken Cato is an expert designer who has done lots of local corp identities. Quite interesting. Not sure how the CSIRO speaker fits in there but they have run conventions there. Todd Sampson is probably the most famous one known from The Gruen Transfer.

      However, I think the emphasis is on the free lunch:

    Loads of food and drink (just had a mini wagyu burger) here and the speakers were very interesting.
