    "Battery Type: 2CR2032(Not Included)
    Runtime: 2 Hours"

No thanks, buying a new battery for each ride is not so useful or cost-effective, even if the item is 'free'.

    • Nice that the specs were truthful about run time, but 2 hours out of a CR2032 really isn't appealing to me.

    • 2 hours is likely for the High mode.

most likely use for this light would be strobe mode as rear light which would have much longer run time.

      • Despite this low price I wouldn't jump on this deal for reasons stated here.

This flashlight is popular among all the flashlight users over the world.

Really? Everyone who has ever used a flashlight anywhere in the world knows about and likes this product?
I should probably get one ;)

  • you can get decent 9-led tail lights for this price

  • Might make a good helmet mounted light.
Edit: Decided to buy one for just that purpose :)

    "Beam Range: 10m"

In NSW your rear bike light must be visible for 200m. 10m isn't QUITE bright enough to be legal/useful

    http://www.legislation.nsw.gov.au/fragview/inforce/subordleg…

    Not worth it.

Horrible idea to run a bike light off 2032 batteries.

There are plenty of cheap bike lights available that will run off NiMH rechargeables (where were those AAA Eneloops?), or which have built-in rechargeable batteries.

I'm especially amused by the claim of "beam range: 10m". Seriously, if you haven't been seen until a car is 10m away, you've wasted your $1.63.

  • Cheap =/= bargain.

A much better version for $6, includes the legally-required red reflector: http://www.pushys.com.au/tioga-big-eye-rear-light.html

If you want a tiny cheap bike light that is half decent, try this
    http://www.kathmandu.com.au/accessories/lighting-and-optical…
Visible to 200m, and runs 220 hours off similar CR2025 batteries. $12.

    • You don't even need to spend that much.

I've been using these things on numerous bikes for years:
      http://dx.com/p/3-led-safety-bike-tail-mount-light-2xaaa-303…

$4 delivered for something that really does work, and uses normal batteries (I get months of 5/week commutes out of a charged set of Eneloops)… much better idea.

    Poor looking unit, wouldn't recommend.

A 10m beam does not mean visible from 10 meters it means it throws a visible beam 10m I have a tail light that would probably meet that statement but lights road signs bright red at 200`300 meters, ie. its easily visible at that range.
Battery life is a direct reflection of power unless significantly different types of led or quoted time to completely non visible which obviously the case in the Katmandu one, current drops as the voltage drops so the led remains marginally lit for ages.

  • Not going to buy one but its a good deal if someone wanted a cheap red light to put on the back of a bike.

2 hours runtime .. Carry a packet of batteries with you

  • Well it arrived, alloy casing, O ring and rubber seals everywhere needed, and bloody bright, visible reflection of the walls in a bright sunlit room.
It is actually brighter than the builtin tail light on my E-bike.

    • Got mine around the same time, I actually think it's really good for the price. Don't really understand why the deal got negged so much

  • I still haven't got mine yet.. Lost in the post?

    • Sounds like it might be :(

    • Still waiting on mine as well. Thought it might be shipping from China so usual month long delay.
