get the Moto G (which a mate got for $220 last week at JB)

    • only thing I HATE about the motoG that this one has over it:
•Card Reader: Support Micro SD card up to 32GB
(and to a lesser extent the removable battery)

but if you were to buy the bauhn you would hate every other aspect of the bauhn ;)

  • for that price i wouldnt buy it id get moto g

Yeah I have to agree with people suggesting to buy a brand name phone with good support from the manufacture and the community of owners. At this price point I can't see the value in buying no name phone.

    No 4G…

  • How does this stand against Lenovo P 780 http://www.antelife.com/lenovo-p780-mtk6589-quad-core-smartp…

    • Same cpu and screen res so pretty much the same, only difference is that P780 has a 4000mAh battery that's marketed as a phone that can charge other phones.

    • Limited 3 G band, only 2100MHz.

      GSM 900/1800/1900MHz WCDMA 2100MHz.

The price can already get you a MT6592 (True Octa Core) phone, MT6589 should really be in the $200 or $150 range by now.

      media tech… ewh…

      • +1

it's not as bad as you think, it's getting better rapidly
especially the MT6592 is pretty much as good as the Qualcomm S600.

        • my tronsmart T428 died pretty much as soon as I got it, very disappointing, and wouldn't play a large number of files wither chugging, they would play fine on my acer a510…

finally I got plex up and running and it was smooth, then the thing dies completely…sighs

        • Tronsmart T428 uses a Rockchip CPU though? not MTK
MTK is on another level, not quite Qualcomm level yet though.
I wouldn't expect much from mainland Chinese mobile CPU manufacturers like Rockchip and Allwinner

  • Aldi just do not have any good deals anymore.

  • was excited about this Bauhn phone until I found this Octa Core for USD$199 http://www.tinydeal.com/presell-thl-w200s-50-ips-mtk6592w-8-…

  • this china phone for US$149.99 has pretty much the same specs.

similar spec phones can be found for less (this is just the first I saw)

  • Good luck finding a nice case to fit. Get a motoG and if you need more storage. http://www.meenova.com/st/p/m3r.html
