the nexus 5 is definitely better spec'd phone but the battery and the camera really lets it down.

Hmmmm…You can get a Motorola Razr M for around $300 with a proper Australian warranty. It's splash resistant rather than water resistant. I don't thing this is that good a deal.

Was just about to comment to this effect. It's an apples and oranges comparison, really.
This is a much higher end phone — although its still too fragile to be called a 'tough' or weatherproof device it is like a cheaper equivalent of a Samsung Galaxy S4, only just lacking the AMOLED display and 13 megapixel camera. I'd get it for that reason alone, since the Galaxy S3 and S4 is pretty pricey IMO.

Huh? The only real spec differences vs the regular s4 is the camera is 8mp instead of 13mp, and the screen is LCD instead of amoled. Processors, ram, everything else is identical to s4. But Neither of which really matter and in the case of the screen LCD is better for outdoors.

Prices will continue to fall pre and post S5 launch. Not the same as buying from a shop, but I picked up a regular S4 on Gumtree brand new for $375 on Monday.

The 4 had a glass back so was very slippery and easy to break.. The 5 has a soft textured back and is more grippy.

I bought one when they had the free shipping a week or so ago and today noticed the price $399, rang them up to find out if they could refund me the $30 difference and they did. Very happy with their service.

Its a lot of phone for the money. I paid $479 from kogan just before Xmas. At this price its a no brainer for a top of the range phone.
