Kuala Lumpur Return ex Melb $333, Syd $348, Adel $328, Perth $290, GC $327 with AIR ASIA

650

Flights from Melbourne, Sydney & Gold Coast to Kuala Lumpur are $10 cheaper than this deal in January. These prices are available for flights departing and returning in March. For my test, I used depart March 5, return March 12.

EDIT: Spent some time testing this thoroughly. To get these prices, you can depart 1st to 16th March, and return any time up to 16th April, as long as you stay away at least 4 days. Cheers.

On a side note, any particular dates we should know about? You have only linked to a booking page, rather than an actual deal. When you go to the AirAsia homepage, all you see is advertisements for their "biggest sale ever", which this could surely not be as you have shown above.

So, again, where can i find a page advertising these prices? They appear to be the same as the "biggest sale ever", however you have just taken a specific month and used that as an example?

The above would be my original point. Dupe.

The 'biggest sale ever' lists specific dates, which are very different to what TA has posted. His post is for booking, and travelling in March..

Just finished calling 8 stores to confirm availability. Not one has any! I'll neg the deal until someone confirms they can actually buy them somewhere.

    • Haha, good to see some light heartedness surrounding the deal!

  • Is the OP also a mod?

He should be given the amount of time he invests, in posting 'Good' deals… :)

  • TA, could you please explain where you got "These prices are available for flights departing and returning in March." from?

No worries xuqi. I just put in 5th to 12th March initially, then worked my way backwards, and the price went up once I hit Feb 28. I then worked forwards to March 15, and the prices were the same, as long as the return date is in March as well. Hope that makes sense :)

        Geez, you are dedicated. :)

        Cheers for the info.

  • thanks man!

  • awesome… !!!

If only I could get the time off work =(

  • It wasn't on promo for KUL-MEL leg this morning.. paid $413 for return :( extra $80. So upset..

    • This wasn't a promo either. Just found it by chance.

      • It says 'promo' at the bottom for both legs though? I should have booked earlier (it was $333 return last week until Monday) but need to check with some work people beforehand this morning, cost me $80! Ahhh

        • Sorry man! Shit happens. Put it down to experience and move on. I'm sure you'll make that $80 up from other bargains :)

  • Anyone try for June?

  • Thanks for sharing this! Just curious if there is an end date for the deal? I can't seem to find one….

  • Booked, thanks OP

    GC-KL , 2pp+mealsx4+20kgx2=$726 all included

    cheers!

  • I have quite often found deals such as the one described - they are not always advertised. I travel a lot to South East Asia and always looking for deals - AirAsia often have them (online - not necessarily through an agent for those calling flight centres etc). I once found a flight Gold Coast - Kuala Lumpur for $70 (I then searched for a cheap domestic flight Adelaide-Gold Coast - it was still worth it.. Just remember that AirAsia, Tiger etc are "Low Cost Carriers" which means that if you want to check baggage, you pay extra, want to choose your own seat you pay extra, want food you pay extra. Just poking around their website and being very flexible with dates will often uncover these deals, that may not be there a couple of hours later. I think they sell off seats relating to how many are on the flight by a certain date etc, to fill the plane. I spend more time on the AirAsia site than others because they have the better deals.Good luck! Happy travels. Ill be off again in June, so thanks for the 'heads-up' about their promo deals..

  • Slightly off-topic, but I recommend the 'Big Breakfast' with Air Asia. Extremely good 'value for money'! I ate 2 coming back Kul - Syd. 1 for a midnight meal, and 1 for brekky!

  • If you book in advance you can get the Sale prices. Going to KL from Melbourne 31/10/13 to 4/11/13 $284 return per person. $45 for infants each way.

  • Apologize if off topic but How is the transit at KL? I dun intend to holiday there but could use the cheap ticket to kl as a springboard to other places I like to go like Singapore or Bangkok or Taipei. Thanks

    • AirAsia flies into KL's LCCT (Low Cost Carrier Terminal). To connect to other international flights, unless you take another AirAsia flight, you may have to go to KLIA (Kuala Lumpur International Terminal), which requires taking a bus or taxi. Not the best airport to transit.

      • This will only be a problem if you are flying with Air Asia X or Air Asia to and from Kuala Lumpur (KUL) with-in the next two months. The new KLIA2 terminal, build to replace the current Low Cost Carrier Terminal (LCCT) is scheduled to open May 2nd 2014.
KLIA2 will be linked directly to KLIA1 via the KLIA Ekspres train.
When the terminal is completed KLIA2 will be the largest low cost carrier terminal in the South East Asian region

      • Yeah this time I've planned for a lift from this backwater hole! lol

  • Thanks for the info

Just booked a couple for Feb/March 2015…$367 per, incl taxes, meals, 20Kgs, booking fees…the lot!
13,000 kilometres of flights with meals and luggage?? any cheaper - the difference would only be chump change!…no wonder QANTAS are in trouble!
    Well done TA, big plus!
