  • Anyone know if they're original? judging by the comments on amazon.. im not sure if they are..

    • I didnt have any fakes from Amazon if it is sold by Amazon.com. Actually I feel save for that plus if you are not happy with what you got you can return it with full refund. They will pay shipping cost

  • Pretty good price, too heavy for my liking though.

    • I bought a pair of RayBan Aviators in 1996 and eventually replaced the glass lenses with plastic polarising lenses because they were so heavy with the original lenses they made my nose and ears ache (mine have flexible earloops at the end of the arms for sports wear). If they're still doing glass lenses I'd stay away……they do last though, mine are as good as new nearly 20 years on..:-)

Your nose and ears must be made of marshmallows cuz I just bought a pair of ray ban aviators 2 months ago and they're one of the light pair if sunnies I own!

      • I agree with Hengis, the aviators are incredibly light especially compared to my other glasses the Oakley Crosshair 2.0's. Glass lenses offer many benefits over plastic especially scratch resistance, optical clarity and generally a thinner lens, the disadvantage is that glass lenses weigh more.

        • Well this is my opinion, sorry if it's different to yours. Well I'm not, just putting it out there for people who have soft skin like me and I'm sure others.

After an hour or so the nose pads would sink into my skin and leaving a mark there. My sisters had the same experience. Buy it and change it with plastic lenses as advised by cornucopia.

well yours are 20yo they might be lighter now

        • I bought mine in 2011

  • its non polarized sunglasses should be polarized otherwise its not good, its my taste.

    • They are UV400 coated, which means it blocks 99-100% of UVA and UVB light.

The reason they are non-polarized is because they are AVIATORS, and traditionally speaking, pilots need non-polarized glasses in order to be able to read their digital instruments, since the polarizations makes it harder to see LCD displays.

      • Interesting theory but aviators are available with polarized lenses.

These Aviators are made in Italy and they ARE polarized. The listing is confusing, so I was a bit afraid, >but they are fantastic! The price was amazing, too. They were shipped from France, but came before another >part of my order that's from the US, so I cannot complain. Don't be scared by the confusing listing (if it >still says they are not polarized).

Can someone who has bought these in the past confirm whether they are/are not polarised?

Simple methods to tell if they are/are not http://www.sunglasswarehouse.com/thesunauthority/polarizatio…

        • Depends which lens you choose. The manufacturer link below shows different frame and lens combinations for this model. P in the thumb means polarized lens.

          http://www.ray-ban.com/australia/products/sun/icons/RB3025

This deal is for standard / non polarized lens

        • Some models are polarised, take a look at the many types they sell and two or three will say polarised. IF they don't say polarised they won't be polarised.

Polarised glasses are not really suitable for pilots nor motorbike riders as they can make it hard to see hazards (in the case of motorbike riders liquids on the surface of the road).
