Travel dates departing:

'Perth $meh' pretty much sums it up…

Although I'd be happy to pay a fair amount of $meh to try Air NZ's new 787 from PER-AKL.

  • Cheaper than GFC/2009 prices…not a bad deal. Such a shame you can't avoid the shithole that is LA & fly to SFO.

    • ???

For a few more bucks you can fly to San Francisco.

also the same prices on AirNZ site if you enter promo code USA200

So no need to call STA, do it online

    • Actually, still more expensive than GFC/2009 prices (see https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/15167 for MEL-LAX or SFO flights for $855) but probably one of the best prices since then.

  • Does the date of your return leg usually matter?

Make sure your return flight is at least 3 hours after your arrival flight.

  • But STA travel is only valid if you're 26 or under right? :S

No u can be over 26 rate is probably more. Just do ticket search on their website. It will ask if its adult student child ect

  • I wonder at this price would they onsell some accom. too, they'd have to make a $ somehow.

  • Just did a search for an over 26 yr old and got over $200 less than if I did the booking with air NZ direct using their online deal (obviously using the same dates). My price is $1086 but not sure if that includes CC fee and what baggage is included - i imagine one bag for 23kgs

Also, expedia is also offering flights on the same dates with Virgin for $1100. Also not sure of extra fees

    • I'd suggest just giving STA Travel a call if you're serious about booking, and make them find their advertised fares for you. If they can't find them, they should go back to their day jobs. Whatever that is.

    • Did you put the promo code into the field on the AirNZ site before you searched?

If you dont do this you dont get the same fare.

When I did that it came up the same rate
