Consistently good offers from SE.. tks rep.

      thanks guys~

  • The BOXD54250WYK @ $475 + Shipping says it's 4GB with a bonus 4GB memory bundle, can you confirm I'm correct in understanding it ships with 8GB of memory for $475?

    • The NUC normally comes with no memory, so an extra 4GB is 4GB total.

    • Hi Ebany,

      It ships with 4GB RAM

      Cheers
      SE

      • I thought as much but had to confirm. While the deals look great, and I've been shopping for a decent NUC for a week or so now, I find too many inconsistencies when I scratch the surface of the deal.

        Example;

The BOXD54250WYK is normally $569 on Shopping Express, but has been reduced to $475 (which includes $GB SoDIMM worth about $40).

Without Discount, I could get the same unit from PCCG (http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&c…) or U-mart (http://www.umart.com.au/newindex28.phtml?id=10&bid=9&sid=143…) @ $459 + $40 for 4GB SoDIMM making it a total of $499 + Shipping. This is only $24 dollars above the "hugely discounted" deal from Shopping Express, and I'm one of those people more inclined to give my money to companies who are CONSTANTLY competitive on prices.

        However, this is Ozbargain. It's not about standard pricing, it's about bargains. That said;

I also notice that Shopping Express only has one (1) year warranty and other stores have three (3) year warranty.

Other than what I've mentioned, I love your deals and appreciate how active Shopping Express are in these forums.

          Hi Ebany,

          Thanks for your feedback.
Warranty will be 3 Years manufacturer's warranty (listing will be revised). We do provide constantly competitive prices for our regular shoppers on many products/categories and lot of our focused products are featured among the top few on price comparison sites. Intel NUC is a new category we've just started & the regular price of them will be CONSTANTLY competitive once all stock arrived.

          Cheers

Then I have put a "+" on this deal :)

Though I admit I keep coming back to this Beauty (http://www.shoppingexpress.com.au/buy/intel-nuc-kit-i5-4250u…)

          :)

  • Note that I had to re-select an option from the shipping drop down menu in the checkout before the discount was applied. Just adding the item to the cart and calculating shipping didn't make it free.

As a bonus it appears all methods of shipping are free, including eParcel with insurance :)

  • Any chance of a bundle on the BOXD54250WYKH as I have a 2.5" SSD?

    • +1

      Hi comphelp,

BOXD54250WYKH bundle 4GB done for you

      regards
      SE

      • Thanks. I don't mean to be rude, but does it really cost $53 extra for just the extra vertical space for a 2.5" drive? That is the only difference, isn't it?

  • rep can you please check if the 120gb v300 comes with 9.5mm adapter? amazon listing mentions it.

    • yes it comes with a plastic frame which is backed with self adhesive to make it 9.5mm

      • ok how to get free shipping? added on cart but still shows shipping fees.

        • +1

          Hi Farrba,

Please apply your post code in your shopping cart and the shipping fee will be waived as a "discount".

          Regards

  • Do the Kingston V300 SSDs come with software to transfer o/s and files from old drive to SSD ?
    ( Like Samsung ?)

    • The Kingston SSD does not come with software

  • +1

Thanks for that- pulled the trigger on the 120GB SSD— been wanting to upgrade my little work netbook for a while now.

    Ta!

  • Hi Rep, any chance to have the Samsung EVO 840 SSD discount or free shipping as well?
Comparing the spec and price between Kingston V300 ($169) and EVO 840 ($189)
seems the Samsung one provide better performance with better value
(paying $20 more to have faster read, write speed and 10GB extra)

  • BTW, anyone know how many Hard Drives these NUC's can manage?

    • I reckon the case can only fit in one….but you can always connect the SSD externally?

      • I'm thinking more on the number of drives they can control. The system I have runs 16x 3TB drives through USB3, 1x 2TB USB2, 1x 512GB SSD USB2, 1x 2TB internal, 2x 512GB SSD internal.

If I hook up 16x 3TB HDD through USB3, will the unit have a spaz attack and crap itself, or will it manage?

  • ahhh man, the N why can you do the E 8GB stick!!!
KVR16E118I <— I need another one of these at that price!

    • haha… :)

  • Deal on the BOXD34010WYKH as well??…. Missed out last round…..

    • Hi reecho,

I've discounted the BOXD34010WYKH to $359 and adding the 4GB ram will give you a $5 discount off your total, making it the same price as our previous offer.

      Regards

Just be aware that Kingston has changed to lower grade NAND chips that is less than HALF the performance of the original - but yet still calling it to be the same model:

    http://www.anandtech.com/show/7763/an-update-to-kingston-ssd…

Read rates have dropped to below 170MB (vs 450MB previously) with write dropping to 85MB instead of 150MB.

These speeds are comparable back to the first gen SSD's now. Would not recommend a purchase.

    • +2

What an incomprehensibly stupid thing for Kingston to do (not change the model number). This is surely going to cause an influx of returns and complaints and is only going to cause resellers endless hassles.

I've already got an older 240GB V300, was planning on getting another as well as a 120GB but I don't think I can risk it now.

  • Wish I'd seen this 20 minutes earlier!

So are the specifications that ShoppingExpress provide still true?

    • Of course this is "true" when you are talking about compressable data (eg. a text file). It does say "Up to".. :)

        Just sent SE the following:

Please remove item item SV300S37A60G from this order. Having read more about the massive performance variations in these hard drives I don't want one.

  • Hey Rep, Any chance of doing BOXDN2820FYKH Celeron with 8gb ram instead of 4gb?

    • Hi bgers5,

Can't do any 8GB bundle with the Celeron atm, the best option will be add on another 4GB ram.

      • Hi any chance of doing the same thing with the i3?

I was toying with a crazy idea to run up a server and wanted to keep a spare RAM slot incase i needed more RAM.

        Ooops that is the i3!

BTW just wondering i was thinking of getting two 8GB DIMMS but it said i could only order 1, was that because that was the last stock? if its possible to get a second added to the order it would be appreciated if you could look into it. My invoice number is N00173472.

And thanks for the sale, was annoyed when i missed the last sale because i didnt finalise the order properly….
