  Interestng, in August of last year, it was $199 with a strikethrough price of $299, now it's still $199 pre-coupon but the strikethrough price is suddenly $399 - a rather staggering increase.

  Have you ever actually sold it for either $299 or the now 33% higher $399 ?

    Hi foobar, response from my manager below:

    We used to import these saddles from overseas and sell them for $ 299.00, last year we switched to a local manufacturer in Australia to get a better quality and stronger product and there recommended retail price is $399.00 as our buy price is over $300.00 we have sold many of these saddles for both the $ 299.00 and $399.00 that are equally as good as the Bamback Saddle just don’t have the branding and these sell for $ 900.00 + - http://www.ergofurniture.com.au/bambach-saddle-seat.html (We ordered a large amount of stock for a big project and got a super price, we have a number left over and wanted to offer these to the public for the sale price. I hope that clarifies it.

      it really doesn't look comfy at all, i paid $179 for a full leather chair that gives me a massage through out from Officeworks. My opinion for half a chair or so call a stool for that price is bit too high.

        Hi theone4u,

        This chair is probably more suited to someone in a 'specialist' field that requires the mobility of a saddle chair when a regular office chair may not be suitable.

        Also, some people find the saddle chair forces them to sit up straight rather than hunching over and can be a good alternative to a regular office chair.

  Hi store rep, I'm just your typical ozbargainer and I think many here will share my view….

  I'm struggling to justify to myself, why I should spend $200 on this stool. Is this really good value? It seems like a bit of a waste of money. I can understand $50 or $70….but $200?

  Could you please provide a bit more info…more selling points to justify the value? Maybe then you'll get some sales.

    Hi clandestino,

    I think the main selling point is that it's a high quality product that's built to last and backed by a 10 year warranty.

    You could buy a saddle chair for less, but if it needs to be replaced every couple of years it may be better to spend slightly more on something built to last.

    Saddle chairs are not for playing games on your computer or watching pron (you really need something to lean back on …) they have specific purposes like if you’re an artist or work at a bench etc. I used to work in a computer store with my head inside computer cases a lot of the time, rolling from 1 PC to another and the saddle chain I used was far more comfortable and efficient than any office chair I tried.
    As for the price, without seeing it and being no brands, you really are taking the reps word for it.
