  • Is this worth it? Any reason not to buy it?

    • +3

Any reason not to buy it?

      It's nowhere near 2000 lumens.

    • Can confirm this is a beast

      • +1

the crown has sharp projections on it to enhance wounding if you need to use it for self defence

        • +1

Thanks! I was wondering why my torch bezel was shaped like that. Now if I could only find someone to test it on…

I still think Maglite 3D LED Flashlight $19.99 from COTD was a good deal.

  • +2

Very nice looking torch. Much amaze.

  • You can get a flashlight light kit i.e. torch, 1x18650 battery, charger on eBay a little more than this

    • +3

      Your link isn't working.

  • I am tempted but I have already bought several torches from Banggood previously.
This one doesn't appear to have an adjustable focus, does it? I quite like being able to tighten the beam right up.

    • +1

100% Brand New CREE XM-L T6 LED "Adjustable Focus Torch"

      • +3

        -1 for my reading comprehension.

  • +1

Love Banggood. Love their torches. Have bought lots from OzB links. Pretty soon I'll be able to go into competition against them

  • +2

How many torches does a man need? One more…

  • Have a few of the smaller ones from banggood and was after a bigger one. What is the battery life using 3 x AAA ??

    • +1

Considering 18650 has around 2000-3400mAh and rechargeable AAA has around 800, then I would say that the battery life would be around one-third.

    • +1

      was after a bigger one

      It's a common problem.

  • Thanks, grabbed one and hopefully one free… I very much recommend the more expensive Convoy torches also from banggood…

  • +2

Dam I only need torches that can use my 50 million Eneloops AA batteries :/

  • Token comment to enter the competition:

We should have an Ozbargain torchlight meetup one night. We can all bring our various torches and recreate the Sydney Vivid festival on a budget.

  • I'm tempted, but 3x AAA batterys.

  • +4

I wasn't going to purchase as I already have a torch at every door but then I thought "what happens if I need to climb out a window?".

    Purchased.

  • ordered 2 . that's a good light

  • would 3 AAAs have better output than a single 18650?

    • the 18650 will definitely last longer in my experience

    • No, not even close. Generally the AA/AAA combos have around 200 odd real lumens (in a good unit, not all can achieve that). While a single 18650, over driving (>3amps) an XML2 on copper can put out around 1000 real lumens,

AA and AAA are just safer tech, and easier to deal with.

  • Damn it, bought one.

  • +1

how about some batteries to go with this? maybe some UitraFlrc… wait…. wut!!!!

      • errr… did you take a look at the brand name in the pics of my link?

        • Yes, UitraFlrc
          Specification:
Product name: Ultrafire 14500 1200mAh battery
          Model: TR 14500

          This part is scary

Capacity: 1200mAh "May be can not reach 1200mAh" WTF

        • 14500's not 18650's. Decent brand 14500's make about 850 mAh IIRC.

          But yes, Housefirc.

  • Any recommendations for which 18650 battery to buy?

  • I bought 2x 1000 LM tourches, focused the light of both to one point and thought… Pretty good… Then, I bought a 500lm real spotlight from my local hunting store…. Yeah… No comparison… The hunting light kicks ass all over the 2 1000 LM lights, even at 1/4 of there lumin!!!

    • +2

The question is how much did u pay for that hunting light?

      • The question is how much did u pay for that hunting light?

Actually I think the question is "what are you hunting?"

        • +1

          Oh, nvm. Wabbits.

      • a lot more, but my point is don't trust Chinese LM as you can certainly tell the difference between fake LM and real LM… (NOTE the spotlight was 50 bux down from 85 - yes much more - but the point is LM not cost… don't loose the point!)

Edit, Yeah Rabbits, your not allowed to hunt game with a spot light.
Edit2: i couldn't resist any more… have to grab it to test it out and compare it against the other two i have…only ten bux, screw it.

  • Nice looking torch, so this is DC compatible right?

  • +2

    Daily ozbargain torchure

  • Thanks! needed another torch

  • +1

Or you could just buy this one for AU$10.99 or make an offer of AU$10.00:

"Waterproof, but don't put it into water long time " LOL

  • ordered one. any 18650 batter deal?

  • Great torch!

  • Can anyone elaborate on the hole in the torch that seems to suggest you can put a charger in it? Like something from an old nokia phone charger? Cheers

  • I check the Banggood Email Newsletters waiting for a Torch Rack to hold all the torches I can't help buying. Looks like I'll need a 24 slot torch rack by the time they release one.

My name is Dave and I'm a torch addict.

Just one more torch, I promise.
Can we have just a little code for this one? It's for a friend, honest.

sorry dude, your torches are crap… and this is really false advertising…. compared to my other 1000lm torches, (also purchased from you guys)its about the same, compared to my 500lm decent hunting spotlight… it fails miserably… if can be bothered, I'll post a video or some pics of the differences. the difference is clear as day…

you know what though… for the price, if you where just honest and listed the REAL lumin I'd be happy enough with them… although I admin I've only tried it with a 18650 so far…but based on past experiences I don't hold much hope for them…

  • Received my lightsaber days ago. Got some savage blades on it when u focus/zoom in- very happy ;-)
