SYD to LAX $839 Air New Zealand @ STA Travel

1280

Statravel has air newzealand flights starting from $829. I managed to get a flight for $839 from mid June to late August. I'm a student so it's cheaper, but I checked the adult fare which was $859 on my selected dates, still the cheapest I've seen for a long time. Adelaide, Brisbane and Melbourne are also on sale

  • Thanks OP, good find!

  • Fantastic price. Hopefully there are more specials to come for later in the year as June is too early for me

  • Amazing prices! These direct or is there a stop over somewhere?

    • +4

Its Air NZ , certainly will stop at Auckland!

  • WOW, the cheapest ive ever seen, even cheaper than the Qantas deal 2 years ago

  • :( Unfortunately the dates in late June I wanted aren't available.

Does anyone know the fare code?

  • +1

I don't see any sale fares.

  • Which dates did you put ? I tried in July and couldn't find any

    • I booked mine for 13 june to 23 aug and just recheck the flights which are still cheap at $855 for an adult, not student.

        • Because the simple thing is most fare rules depend on your outbound date. He/she is leaving on 13/6 and if anyone else is leaving on 13/6 for 7 days, 2 weeks, 3 weeks should see similar pricing.

        • +1

and then when that pricing changes and there are no other dates where you can get that price anymore then should not the title of the post change to reflect that?

  • +14

I can't get it to load any results, everybody get off for a sec.

  • If only they had sales for October…

  • +1

    hmmm i even found $823..
    Dep Mel - LA 13/06 to 27/07
I looked my airfares for late jun already but these are good prices!

  • +1

Yeah I'm heading there end of October. Hope for the same for then

  • +2

Try for $400 off next month? ;-)
I don't know whether to cry or buy every time these return USA flights keep popping up for under $1k.

The $300 off is also advertised on AirNZ's website.

    • Thanks muncan, the $300 off deal on Air NZ's website is for all of North America so this makes other destinations great value too.

  • Just seeing prices around the $2000 mark for leaving June - rtn July

I'd like to thank the OP. I just booked a Melbourne > Boston + Seattle > Melbourne today on Expedia, not knowing about STAtravel's deals. I checked STAtravel's offer for the same itinerary as mine, and it was 45 bucks cheaper. Expedia price-matched me and I got 45 dollars back. So thanks!

Flights from Melbourne to LAX during same dates are $855 on the AirNZ website. Might be worth booking with them to avoid the extra party in the booking process.

  • +4

    • +14

I don't know why people are voting this down. You don't have to have a good memory, just look up Air New Zealand on this website, you know I am not lying. The first time it was around $1020 last year, the second time was around $920 less than one month ago. I bought tickets the first time the deal was on, I actually called Air New Zealand when it was back for $920. That's exactly what they told me. You might go f**k this, it's a good deal anyway. Fine. It's a good deal, I am not denying that. But the behavior of trying to remove all negative comments is not a good way represent yourself on a public forum like this, especially when the proof is so easy.

I don't know why people are voting this down.

Because you're complaining about Air NZ offering fares that get cheaper and cheaper, perhaps?

    • +21

Actually $839 to be transported from one side of the world to the other. Pretty reasonable I think.

    • Feel free to go spend $10,000+ on first class, your highness. Or if you wish to invent something more suitable to your needs, such as an instant transportation device, we'd all be really appreciative.

      • -2

Right… you never considered the option of, oh, you know, not going to New Zealand? Airlines charge us $839 because we're willing to pay that. If people didn't put up with that kind of money for ridiculous cramped conditions, they'd be forced to lower prices or offer more space.

        • Book an isle seat and unload your sardine into the isle.

        • New Zealand? It's Los Angeles.

And giving up travelling internationally just to stick it to airlines is ridiculous. You must be miserable.

        • Don't you mean Los Angeles? I can get to New Zealand for $250.

  • simple MrZ, enjoy your 2K flights with another airline then!

      • +1

        Pay $801?

        • +7

A quick check of MrZ's previous comments will confirm to all that he is a clown.

        • -7

          I don't think so mate.

      • +1

Hmmmm MrZ….interested to know who you flew with on your trip to the USA in 2011! I'm assuming you didn't fly sardine class.

        • Or maybe he's one of those who pretend to fly not on sardine class lol.

  • Thanks guys - shame it's not for leaving in late May. It's a good deal.

Anyone flown Fiji Airways? They're next. Mandatory stop on the way from SYD - LAX in Nadi.

  • Thanks! Was looking for June 7-July 27 just earlier today, but was $1900 with most airlines. Just got June 9-July 27 for $823!

  • Virgin100 gives 100 off virgin flights to USA booked at sta . Not sure if works out as good deal compared to this airline

  • Amazing deal. I just book flights SYD>LAX return next month for $1700 :(

  • -2

hopefully its not a one way ticket…..

  • +1

If I just want a cheap one-way flight can I book a return flight, with the return leg as an "Economy Flexi" for $969 (refundable and changeable anytime) and then once I'm in the US, cancel the return ticket for a full refund or is there something I'm missing?

    • Most restrictive conditions will apply so the flexi fare will have the cheaper restrictions put on it.

    • Wait to hear some advice. I understand that if you do a trip different to your booking, you will be charged the price coming up now (or later?) for the trip you do complete. return tickets are much cheaper per leg than single tickets per leg.
