Yes, you can transfer. Usually you pay whatever the company (you are transferring to) charges to register the domain name for a year but that extends the time on top of whatever remains from when you first registered (i.e. you transfer after 6 months, pay for a year so have 18 months until renewal date).
I agree about the wide range of domain costs. I don't know why such big differences.
Should see the cost to buy some I'd like! (those already registered but up for sale) They go to the highest bidder.
Some try to make money on the domain, others try and get you by the domain and hit you up on DNS and web hosting, email hosting, back up services, helpdesk etc.
As usual, just got to be wise and look at the final costing before agreeing.

I have dealt with some (reputable) businesses who do have .biz
In any case, it's up to whoever if they want to use or not.
I'm not taking the offer up as I already have enough domain names.

I've seen plenty of .com spammy sites………….and on other domain names too.
So if I buy one of these, it belongs to me and I can transfer it to another provide as long as I pay the yearly registration fee?
I don't understand why some domain names have different yearly prices. Can anyone explain?
