80 Piece Kitchen Starter Set @ Target $49

750

Bought this today. Rrp $69. Not a huge saving but $69 is already a saving if you were to purchase these items individually. This deal probably won't appeal to everybody but for someone like me that basically needs everything and doesn't cook all that often to warrant quality kitchenware, this seems like a decent deal.

Available online (shipping extra) and instore.

    Seem like a lot of things for $49.

      Anyone else out there thinking this is one bargain you'd buy and put to the side for a rainy day (and by rainy day I mean your wife throws you out of the house to fend for yourself?

      But seriously, this would be perfect for:
      a) Holiday house utensil update
      b) Caravan utensil update
      c) Son/Daughter 1st home gift

  • Site doesn't seem to mention what cooktops the pots and pans can be used on - op, can you check the packaging and see if it's listed?

      Cookware suitable for halogen, ceramic, electric and gas :)

      • Cheers for that.

  • pretty happy with the value for money. a good way to get the basics needed for a new home.

    I do know that the cutlery wouldn't cost more than a few cents each when bought in bulk.

    We bought their pots and pans for $40 a few years back - quality is very bad but it helps if you are starting out.

    God bless China :)

      LOL why do they even bother making this stuff and polluting their environment whilst making no money. Target takes a big cut and then still only sells for $50 WTH!! If its a bludging Aussie that made this, we'd probably be getting just the timber knife block for $50..

    • They do the jobs we'd refuse to, all while we complain about not having enough work in Aus.

      • At rates and conditions which we would refuse as well, and for good reason. The Western world shouldn't be trying to match prices with cheap manufacturing; they should be refusing to buy from countries which exploit cheap labour and cause huge amounts of suffering in the name of a quick buck.

    I got this exact same set when I moved into a new place. The quality is truly awful and I almost immediately had to replace all the pots and pans. The can opener hardly works and hurts to use, the peeler is absolutely useless and the knives rusted pretty quickly. Everything else was good, but everything else could probably be bought for less than $49 anyway.

      Best thing I ever did was buying good knives.

      Nothing like trying to cut something up and it just laughs at you.

        Number 1 cause of injury in the kitchen is using blunt knives to cut vegetables. If you're going to buy sh*t knives at least get a sharpener for when it loses the edge every 2nd day. You don't have to buy expensive knives, just spend more than $15.

        • I reckon blunt knives are fine, when they're so blunt they can't even cut you when you slip. It's when you go from a blunt knife back to a sharp one that you get cut a lot. You get used to being cavalier with the knife and a keen edge cuts easily.

    Good find. But honestly, if you're intending to purchase these sorts of cookware, you'd rather spend more on quality.

    Quality = love

    Love = Quality

    You feel me?

    Get dem feels ya heard?

    I saw those on display today, how do I put it, the pots and pans will last you maybe 1 week if lucky, the other stuffs have very rough edges. It looks more of a disposable products with once use only…………

    • +1

      We've been using the same pots and pans for a year and a half now. They do the job and certainly last more than 1 week! They are very light, have plastic handles so they don't burn you or need stupid pot covers to lift them.

      The large pot split at a seam but that was after it was dropped, so it's not fair to say it was from poor quality, it fell a couple of metres onto concrete.

      They certainly won't win any awards but they are just fine for doing their job. They've lasted longer than some of the expensive brand-name 'non-stick' garbage friends bought which needed replacement after non-stick coatings started peeling after six or eight months.

    Saucepans quality gave me cancer

  • I bought a set like this when I moved into a new place. It's ok to get you going but we ended up replacing pretty much everything in the set over time as the quality is pretty awful, saucepans especially.

  • Super bro…but I don't have more space
