Fitbit Flex $124 + Free $30 Giftcard with Purchase from Dick Smith

70

I just went to Dick Smith in Sydney Central Plaza to check out the Fitbit Flex which was advertised in their latest catalogue for $124. Surprised to find they also had a deal where you receive a $30 gift-card with purchase. This is not listed in the sale catalogue and I had almost not gone in there as I have an Officeworks around the corner from my work selling them for $123.

Weirdly, I just noticed the receipt says "Jawbone $30 gift-card" but it definitely worked, and was advertised with the Fitbit in store.

So good, bought 2.

  • A Jawbone $30 gift card? So what can you buy with that? Jawbone accessories?

    • From what the receipt shows we can see that you get a $30 gift card with each purchase, however the cashier put a reverse charge of $30 against the gift card and allocated it to the Jawbone. That looks to be an internal thing. The OP got 2 x Fitbit Flex and 2 x $30 DSE Gift Cards for a total of $248.

I have one of these, and wonder why I bought it. After the novelty wears off, it's just a glorified pedometer.

Do your research people - None of them do what they claim. Need another few years before they figure this one out.

I think people are buying into the motivational site of things, if wearing it making people want to test the device and as a result, try to better themselves on their exercise each day. Then the $100s spend is well worth it.
