  • Good deal OP - nice to have some thats car related and not a free air freshener with 99c delivery! Any deals on tyres to fit a 2000 model toyota echo - i think they are P175/65R14

    • Probably could do Goodyear Assurance Triplemax for $360. Although strictly speaking, you'd have to be in Melbourne to take advantage of the fitting.

  • Hey Rep, what can you do 265/40/21 for? it's for an Merc ML

    • Try calling Continental :) Goodyear/Dunlop don't do anything in that size!

  • hi rep, what's the price for a set of 235/60/18? Thanks

    • $830 - Goodyear Efficientgrip SUV.

  • Damn, few months late but more interestingly missed the jv debate:)
I hope jv was serious about buying tyres!

  • -2

my 2 cents - love to buy - tyres a bit old for 50-60 bucks. There are numerous shops in Camberfield which sells tyres ( have over 90% tread left) as these are taken from wrecked cars, accidental cars etc across the country. I have save 000's over the years and never suggest buying new tyres. they all do wheel balancing and are as good as new.

    • +2

Given we're talking about Campbellfield I take it that the reference to "Accidental cars" refers to cars that fell off the back of the truck!?

      /joke

      (:

    • The rubber will start deteriorating over time. Check the production date (moulded into the wall) and try not to keep tyres more than 5 years old if you do any highway driving.

  • How about 245/45/R17?

    • Dunlop Sport 01's are available for $615.

      • Cheers, had Dunlop sport 01's previously and was still too slippery in the wet. Got Michelin PS3's at the moment which are great, anything equivalent? Thanks

        • Goodyear F1 A2's or the D5's are out of stock. Sorry. :(

    • +3

at the very least say "hi rep", manners are free.

  • These are great Tyres for a great price. Have these on my Megane 250 and they have excellent wet grip.

  • What's your best price for a set of 225/40/18 with front and rear aligning?

    • $675.

  • Hi rep, any deals on 215/50/R17? Cheers

    • I've got Goodyear Duraplus in stock at $520 for the set. Inc fitting and balancing.

  • Holy shit! I just paid $336 per corner for the exact same tire on Friday (at a completely different store). I knew it wasn't the cheapest and I only needed a pair, but damn I got burned looking at this deal.

    • +1

get these and keep 2 as spares to ease the pain + $20 each to fit later

  • just got kumhu ku39 for 700 fitted 225/40/18 and 235/40/18. That with me doing alot of running around and taking it to my mechanic to fit them on.

    This is cheap!

    Hi Rep
    How about 215/65/R16???
    Thanks

  • Mate, I have a Nissan Dualis. The tyres are 215/55 R18 but I'm having a lot of difficulty getting anything.

Can you see if you can find anything that is suitable and advise me of the price, including shipping, to Brisbane?

    • I've had people switching to 235/55r18's in the Dualis. That's legal to do in Victoria. Let me know if that works for you.

      • Wonder how I find out… what have you got available?

        • Well, Vicroads allows a 75mm change in suspension height in SUV vehicles, 50mm of which can be done using the tyre size.

Pretty certain the ruling is derived using the Australian Design Regulations.

          4x 235/55r18 Goodyear Forteras are $720.

        • what's the load rating? I think my dualis is 99

        • 104V.

        • Then am I right in saying I can't use these?

        • No, the tyre load rating is higher than required by the car. That's a good thing!

        • Ok cool. I'll check if the local has them, otherwise, I'll let you know. Does the $720 include delivery?

        • Delivery is $90. LOL. Sorry.

        • Wonder how I find out…

You get someone that has to cover the asses of retailers in all states to steer you right!!! ;)

          http://www.tmr.qld.gov.au/~/media/Safety/Vehicle%20standards…

Read page 21. Depending what they class a Dualis as I think you might be disappointed! AWDs (soft roaders) are classed as Passenger cars, not 4WDs!

As far as I'm aware, there are currently only 3 tyres available here for your car; Conti, Toyo and Nankang that have the 99 load rating that you require!

        • And to the Rep: Be very careful about changing ODs on vehicles without clarifying current laws. Since the NCOP came into Vic the law has become very unclear. It seems to be a combination of both the NCOP and VSI8 (whichever they decide to follow at the time!). No one in Vicroads can give a straight answer as it's based entirely on the exact model of vehicle you're intending to change and the law also seems to change dependent on how far up you're going too! Wish they'd just bring in one rule for everyone!

        • +1

Hey Snoop, I totally agree with you on that point! It quite depends on if the Dualis is classed as an AWD/ Soft Roader or a 4WD. I might just ask my RWC mechanic today at work for his opinion!

        • +1

All good.. I ended up getting Bridgestone Turanzas 235/50 R18 101W.

          4 fitted + wheel alignment for $1119

  • Hi Rep,

Where are the Goodyear F1 Asymmetric 2 225/40r18 92Y's made? Still Germany?

And how long will shipping take to Brisbane?

    • +1

Still made in Germany! Shipping to Brisbane is 2-3 working days.

  • What tyres would you recommend for a standard ~2000 VT Commodore Executive? Decent performance and long life, but nothing crazy expensive ideally.

    • Depends on your tire size. 15's? 16's? 17's?

  • Rep, how do these tyres compare to Bridgestone RE001 Adrenalins?

    • Well this is the flagship Goodyear tyre. It's a matter of personal preference really. Some people like Bridgestones, others like Michellins. You're welcome to do your research on the F1's. They're quite popular regardless.

  • Store Rep……as above, thanks!

  • Hi rep, any deals for a 1997 mirage 175/70R13?

    • Goodyear Duraplus is $300. Inc fitting and balancing.

  • Hi whats your best price for 4 x 255/50/19 sent to perth ?

    This price is fantastic.

Great customer service rep. Looks like you gonna be busy looking after Ozbargainers for a while. Keep it up,

    • Watching the F1 and replying to emails. It's a productive Sunday night. ;)

  • Can someone tell me if these are a quiet tyre/ road noise? Looking at 235/35 r19

    • Its good. Quieter than the ContiSportContact 5P I replaced, but not by much..

      • Not to be rude, but do you remember exactly what the CSC5Ps were like when they were brand new. Because you can't really compare the worn out tyres you took off to the brand new ones!

  • Any performance options in 195/55/16? And where are they made?

    • Not many performance options. Goodyear Excellence is as good as it gets!

  • I have a Mercedes Benz E200K and it's about time to change the tyres. I just want the cheapest that the car can use and can go to your workshop this week. What's the price of the tyres including fitting, balancing and wheel alignment?

    • What's your tire size mate?

  • Hi Rep, what about 225x 55 x r18

    Thx

    • No specials available I'm sorry.

  • Hi Rep, any specials on 255/40/18? Lexus IS.

    Cheers

    • No specials again I'm sorry.

  • Hello OP,

    Do you have 215/65r15?
And total price for the set of 4 fitted would be..?

    Thanks!!

    • +1

      Dunlop Fastresponse would be $495

  • OP->
    1. would you still have any left of these by the end of the week? I'd be up for a set but can only swing by at the end of the week.
    2. Reckon we can paywave a couple of times for payment? Could end up saving a further 5%!!

  • $160 shipping to Perth and excluding fitting and balancing i believe. I think WA couldn't benefit much from this deal but a good deal for those in Melbourne as ReP said 4 of these could easily cost more than $1000

    • Don't be so sure, tyres in WA are super expensive. I've probably shipped over 5-6 sets to Perth in the last month. ;)

      • Well i was quoted $675 for a set of 4 Bridgestone Potenza RE002 size 235/45/17 fitted & balanced. interested to know how much can you beat it by with your F1 shipped to Perth? I know it isnt exactly apple vs apple but at least have an idea if worth buying from Mel and pay for the local to fit & balance for me.

  • Hey OP, any deals on 245/40r18s?

    • No super hot deals I'm afraid.

  • +3

Dont want any tyres, but gave a + for the efforts put by the Store Rep and price compared to the market.

    • Same here. Gave + for the good price and reply to questions.

  • Wow great prices, will be hitting you up in the very near future for sure. I understand that you're a Goodyear rep, however are you able to do Michelin SP3's?

    • Nope. Tried Costco?

    • For good prices on Michelins, try Micky Kapoor at Tyrepower Hawthorn. Costco is quite cheap too, cheaper than all the other places I tried, but Micky beat them all hands down.

    • Not sure where abouts in Vic you are, but some of the bigger Michelin dealers around Melbourne are Akling (Sth Melb), Swan St (Richmond), Eastland (Ringwood), Junction (Mentone). These guys may not always be the cheapest, but go in there knowing that they have the greatest room to move on Michelin as they get better pricing based on rebates because of the quantity they move!

  • Do you have anything for 215/60r16?

    • Assurance Triplemax $450 for 4. Inc fitting and balancing.

  • Hi Rubals,
what deal do you have for 235/60/18, for a Lexus RX450H. Thanks.
