I wholeheartedly disagree with your sentiments on Vietnamese food, but respect your opinion (of course, everyone experiences taste differently and we all have different preferences, there is no right or wrong).

Viet food is freaking delicious. Maybe find some Viet folks to take you out on a little local food tour :)

P.S. I'm not Vietnamese. Actually half Indonesian, so I grew up on that cuisine. Massive fan of Thai and Korean too… can't disagree with you on those! haha

Obviously taste is subjective and everyone finds different things tasty.
But yes, it's probably your taste - other people (such as myself) love Viet food.

Why do people flock to Subway? Because it's a westernised sandwich shop in a Western country - very similar to why Vietnamese people in Vietnam flock to Pho restaurants.

1 in 100? Must be all my "cultured" hipster friends since they love the many Vietnamese restaurants in Bankstown, Cabramatta, Canley Vale and of course Newtown.

Ha! Opinion from the guy who tasted sh!t before, look in here. Maybe that's the delicacy of people in your country, troll?

Dude, you seem oddly defensive and angry on this topic lol. You need to chill. I wasn't attacking your statement or opinion.

You're a weird individual. And that has nothing to do with not liking certain types of cuisine lol.

If those foods are popular why people flock Subway instead?

How many banh mi joints do you see around, compared to the number of Subways?

but if you're from Sydney, ever seen the constant queues outside certain bread roll shops in Mascot? They stretch down the street. Ditto with the banh mi place in Marrickville.

Show me where any Subway has ever had queues that trail outside the shop and down the street lol.

          sigh.

The tone of the comment is so strange. Instead of "oh its not my thing because of X reason but people are entitled to their opinions", it's "I hate this food it makes me so angry that other people even like it!"

I must take pause though, as his use of statistics brings weight to his argument. At most 1/1000 find the food 'eatable' (do you mean edible?). Strange that so many of these restaurants can survive with such statistics.

    • That doesn't really make this not a deal for those of us who might enjoy Vietnamese cuisine.

By all means… why would it prevent you?

          Stop hating.

    • feel sorry for your limited joy mate :(, we love varieties ;)

  • why is banh mi becoming a "thing" now

its been available at every vietnamese breadstore since like forever for less than 4 bucks

Prices for catering would be… same as the menu? Or is there a separate price list for catering?

I want to give you a +1 but without details like that, it's impossible to say whether this is of 'good value' (ie. a bargain).

Nice idea though. Considering how often I see Subway catering events/corporate situations, I've always thought that banh mi could easily take it's place as they're similar in concept and preparation… and be a far bigger hit. Good luck with it.
