    DOOGEE …. will you buy?

    • +9

      such price, much bargain wow

      • That was EXACTLY what I thought when I saw doogee.

        Much thinking so same wow.

    • WOOF

    • +2

I didn't expect much for the price but when I turned it on it diagnosed my hernia for me. Quite impressed.

    • +4

      I read it as Dodgy!

    • +2

      doogie howser?

  • I wonder how long a 2200mAH battery will last.

    • +14

Probably a lot longer than whatever battery is in this thing .

  • +3

    Includes Chinese government root kit

    • +1

Where is the evidence to back this up?

      • +1

maybe this will help http://www.theverge.com/2013/7/30/4570780/lenovo-reportedly-…, although many phones are made in China these days and it's not too hard to insert low level code into the firmware of a smartphone, if you believe the story the NSA has already injected backdoors into all major phone operating systems

      • Which is not a lot different to US NSA root kits…

  • +3

Why do people still buy phones with only 2 frequencies? Quad Band is so more convenient.

  • +6

haha , good bang for your bark !

  • DOOGEE = DODGY ?

  • +3

I have dooggee dg300, battery and build quality are good. Camera specs are interpolated though (dodgy).

  • HAHA

It could be dodgy phone and it is good bang for your butt,

Combine this with a 3rd party cheap $20/month carrier like Vaya, telechoice and you got urself a good all round phone, no monthly contracts.

Def good bang for you butt

Given it's missing the 3G 900Mhz frequency used on the optus network, those resellers with this phone will result in slow/patchy internet.
      I also didn't know android 4.2.9 was a thing

      • It depends on where you go. 900MHz is really for rural areas. I currently use a China phone (not Doogee) on Optus and I simply don't need that frequency. I use it in Sydney and as far as Port Macquarie and in places in between and coverage was fine.

I'd imagine if people really cared they would skip 3G altogether and go for LTE phones. For the near $100 price of these phones, especially the previous pre-order deal at Focalprice, these phones are hard to beat for bang for buck.

Hi dcnguyen82, all jokes aside, this does look like a decent phone for the amount. The main points to keep in mind are it will only use the 2100MHZ band for Optus/Vaya/Virgin/Amaysim etc. and miss out on their second 3G/WCDMA 900MHZ band used in rural/regional areas. Also if there are any malfunctions with this phone, you would almost just scrap it and write it off, as warranty claims would be more trouble than it's worth. Camera would probably be poor. Other than that, seems like well worth the money. If you get it, give us some feedback. Cheers
      Edit: Beaten to it

    • go here http://telcoantennas.com.au/site/optus-coverage-maps and select 3G single band. If you're in a yellow area it'll give you HSPA+ for Optus.

  • OS Android 4.2.9 ??
you seriously? first time to hear of this version….

    • +1

      It's a typo, it's actually 2.4.9

    • +1

Probably talking about Google Play v4.2.9, which came packaged with JB 4.3

  • sounds dodgy for me, better safe than sorry

Hey Mods, I just gave JV a + and got a warning saying "are you sure you didn't mean to press -".
Is this a new update to the website?

        • No most people want to neg jv… So just making sure…

        • +2

Haha, I suspect JV will get a few + for his comment now with people testing your theory…I know I did ;)

        • +1

That would be counterproductive. Jv loves getting negged.

  • is this a go or a no go :/ ?

  • +3

I ordered two both colours so i will keep you guys updated if its worthit.

  • +1

I would buy a Chinese phone because they are cheap, but I don't want my brain liquified.

    • because of???

      • Too much MSG in Chinese take away?
Angry teen who wanted iPhone (oops, made in china)?
        Casual racism?

  • Not a big bargain, comparable to http://www.focalprice.com/MK0121W/Presale_DOOGEE_PIXELS_DG35…

The issue with both is that they are showing as a backorder - hate to get stuck with a long delay on the dispatch.

Reckon this is better than this?

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/121292087626?ssPageName=STRK:MEWA…

    • Poorer screen and higher price.

  • This phone was $96 last month (presale)

  • Not worthit anymore,

Rep probably saw the price and there were only 40 orders yesterday when posted and now its nearly 80 so they jacked the price, in my eyes thats dishonesty at its best.

    • +1

in my eyes thats dishonesty at its best.

in my eyes that's capitalism at its best.

  • Well i found it for 118.89 AUD delivered, here:
