No, it was $817.52 when DS had 12% off the other day https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/138858

It was cheaper during the 12% sale but I guess this would probably be the best price right now.

EDIT: unity beat me to it

  • Are people confident that there'll be another sale for maybe 11% off or more?

      is the pope religious?

Maybe not. He might just like young boys.

    • Was hoping a 13% or 14% sales coming up.

  • "expires at 3pm today but surly DS will have another sale soon"

Surly was a fish on Big Brother….

  • Cheapest so far. ++ from me.
Crazy price though, I think it will drop after 6 weeks or so :)

Asked this in another S5 thread:

Does anyone know the usual pattern of Galaxy S series discounts? IE Obviuosly there is a premium to be first, how quickly does the price settle?
Daughter lost her iPhone, would like to wean her off Apple.

give it until iphone 6 comes out

buy it with a 28degrees card with insurance

      claim back future price drops

      Win

800 is overpriced for a smartphone

    • indeed 32GB S5 should push the 16GB S5 down in price.. well i hope heh

Yes, it is a classic case of status symbol display behaviour. Unfortunately, high school kids are totally into that these days.
Ie leaving it on the cafe table says "look everyone $800 and I don't care" more than being worth $800 in any practical sense. I mean come on! You can buy an awesome computer for that price.
      Teenage girls=expensive

      • Haha, oh wow. Someone's jealous. Projecting much?

        • +1

          Hah not at all.
I have a teenage daughter - guess whos paying? :p

I think they're definitely creeping up in price with each successor.

But iPhone starts at $869 and doesn't get any significant discounts.

$800 + for a plastic made phone and the back look like band-A… Not worth.. Wait for few weeks, the price will drop,

why bother clicking this link just to leave a comment that in no way contributes to helping anyone?

      • How do you know that was his intention. He does have a point btw.

  • Dissapointing no LG G2 on there wesite to use the 10% discount

    • Discontinued. You can't find it on their site anymore. Check in store and they'll find local stock for you, but obviously the code won't apply.
However, you can grab an Optus MySim on it for $25 and save $100 off the phone. Save yourself $75 (but waste 20mins).

      • Cheers man but only interested in the phone with the discount. In store means no discount.

If its discontinued no online presences now makes sense

Seriously why do people keep buying Samsung? It's the new Apple, every year the sheep line up to buy the new plastic crap with touchwiz.

    • I have stopped at Note 2 because it's adequate to run most of the android apps. I do not need fancy stuff which I do not use them everyday. If I want the heart rate monitor, speed/cadence for sport I would use more specialise device by Garmin.

  • Can't believe Iphone 5s cost $869 with very little spec.

    http://store.apple.com/au/buy-iphone/iphone5s/16gb-silver-un…

It's not even 1/3 as good as Galaxy S5

    http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=6033&idPhone2=…

    • This is because Samsung requires a very high spec to run its touchwiz and other bloated wares.

Yeah iOS is very heavily optimized and streamlined (boring?), compared to the resource sucker that is Java on Android.
